Request for consideration from a knight

I get that Spartan is a popular idea and there have been many threads on it, I am also not one of those that ever complained about having Roman heroes in the Centurion and the Gladiator, but with the influx of threads recently I want to put in a thread rather than a comment.

We have had no new medieval themed knight. Does that particularly matter? Maybe not to some but I feel that before we go to yet another culture, and this time one that was not foreshadowed in the campaign, then we need something that is more of a traditional knight first. People say that there is nothing else we can really do with the knight in that theme, last time this came up I posted a few ideas off the top of my head and I know I have seen more on here and on reddit.

Templar (vanguard, sword and shield) Forgemaster (Heavy, hammer and shield or two handed hammer) Scout (Assassin/Heavy in the Valkyrie type mix or Vanguard/Heavy in the Aramusha type mix, dagger and free hand though that would need to be differentiated from centurion) Duelist (Vanguard, rapier and maybe cloak since those were occasionally used to entangle), Lancer (Heavy, lance and shield), Bishop (Heavy or Vanguard/Heavy, mace). Guardian (Heavy, bastard sword, options for one handed or two)

Now these are very rough, and there are likely weapons I missed, a couple would need distinguishing from the current crop, but I feel there is still plenty of material to draw off, personally I would like a sword and shield, something hammer themed and the bastard sword. Will I be particularly upset if we don't get something of this kind of flavour? Eh I'll get over it, I just think that there is more left than people think when they say oh but the devs have done everything they can with medieval themed or 'Arthurian' style knights.

Knights can use many weapons that arent in game. Partizan, Mace, 2h Mace and Hammer, Lucerne, Billhooks, Quarterstaff.....

agreed, hammer is the first that comes to mind when thinking about missing weapons in the game... then a sword and shield knights is almost mandatory... maces have been mentioned...

Lol I forgot about it for a while, but I've always been very fascinated with medieval melee combat, look into nearly every nook and cranny when it comes to that stuff.

Another think Id like to see is the game having a middle-east warrior of some sort, some were scary AF.

Thanks for sharing the suggestions as always, Candle!

My comment about Spartans being popular in the other thread was merely a personal observation I've made over the time I've been working with the For Honor community. It in no way reflects the future of For Honor.

You're definitely not alone in wanting to see more "knightly" knights added to the game, as opposed to further expanding upon the Roman direction the two DLC heroes went. (Though the Knights in the campaign do stem from Roman origins.) There are certainly areas where the Knight faction could be expanded upon and many players have made very interesting suggestions here, as well as on Steam and Reddit. I believe one of my personal favorites I saw was the suggestion of an Inquisitor who wielded a mace and had a debuff effect on certain attacks called "maim".

Right now the main focus for the fight team is on the reworks for the original 12 heroes, which we will release more information on as it becomes available.

I get it and I am not someone who was mad over the Centurion and Gladiator,I just keep seeing a suggestion for yet another ancient culture and it's like no,let me have the heroes you think of when you think of my faction lol. I also remember the maim one,it was a good idea.

At this point there is still a lot of weapons usable for knights but the real issue I believe is to give those knights some strong identities. Inquisitor being more or less like a Lawbringer with another loadout. The simple idea of getting a mace/shield or 2H mace knight makes me wet though.

Definitely like your first two suggestions because this game needs more heavies and vanguard's.
