Recently upgraded consoles from Xbox One to Xbox One X. All DLC/updates (through Discovery Mode) were loaded and worked on old console. After upgrading and transferring all content/saves to new console, I receive a message saying that Hidden Ones DLC is required to load save. Store says I own DLC. This isn't the first time I've had the issue, so I followed all the steps to fix it:
Ensure Console is updated
Ensure Games/Apps updated
Ensure Live is connected/working
Reset Console while maintaining content/saves
Hardwire Console to router
Run full troubleshooting tree via XBox Support, to include service ticket and live chat
Message that DLC is required still appears, despite transferring content via external to new internal memory
Attempt to load game [edit: not game save] using content on Internal hard drive
Attempt to load game [edit: not game save] using content on External hard drive
Message still appears
Forum answers from Ubisoft says to not force game save to load, as that wipes progress.
Thoughts? Because if this is an issue and your answer is "too bad, your sh*t is lost" I'll be referring to the Xbox team to pursue refund of all digital content. I'm sure one customer saying that doesn't mean a damn thing, but making it known via forums that you can't/won't fix the issue may echo through the consumer base.
I hate saying that kind of thing, but this is ridiculous. I have yet to see other posts with positive troubleshooting interaction.
Second Edit: I cancelled selling my old xbox to check and see if all the content still works on the old console. It does. So now the situation is, due to this error induced by whatever update/bug is from the company/game, if I want to continue playing this game and NOT start over at square one, I have to retain my old xbox until you fix the issue.
Do you have a suggestion other than "keep the old xbox for the sake of continuing the game save"? Because that would be ridiculous.
Third Edit: MORE CONTENT MISSING
After getting some sleep and looking further into the issue, no matter which console I use, ALL PREORDER and Deluxe Edition content is GONE. Secrets of the First Pyramids and Ambush at Sea quests show as COMPLETE, but I can NOT replay them if I choose. All items that came with Roman Centurion Pack, Horus Pack, and Desert Cobra Pack are GONE, and from time to time when I open the Store in-game my Helix Credits might be there, they might not. Depends, I guess, on whether the stars are aligned.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? So my Deluxe Edition of the game has basically been reduced to a normal digital copy, I have to play it on an older model console or not at all, and going through one of your forums, this issue has been brought to your attention NUMEROUS times since MID-NOVEMBER.
NOT THAT IT'll MAKE A BIT OF DIFFERENCE, but I'll add the info you request of others so you can not attempt to waste my time any more than necessary:
. What Xbox are you using? (Xbox One, Xbox One Slim, Xbox One X)
XBox One AND XBox One X
. Can you confirm the operating system version on your console?
Console: 10.0.16299.5101
. Are you registered to the Xbox Insider Program and if so have you recently installed any updates for your console?
No.
. Did you notice anything different when launching the game?
No. Launched normally from Dashboard, then clicked on save.
. Did you notice anything when you closed the game the last time you played?
No. Closed normally via Menu > Quit to Title Screen > Close/Quit AC:O via Xbox Button > Return to Dashboard
. How much time elapsed since the last time you played the game?
When the problem initially occurred, it happened right before I left town for work. I was gone 5 days.
. Did you encounter a crash the last time you played the game?
No
. What was the last quest you played in the game?
Was in Discovery Mode, among the pyramids, with the last 5 tours to go.
. What level was your character?
45, with just a little over 125 hours of gameplay since starting New Game +
. What country are you from?
USA
Let me find out, come Curse of the Pharaoh release, that you try to force me to REPURCHASE the content despite having the Season Pass that came with Deluxe Edition.
Hey,
Sorry if you have tried this but you haven't listed it, have you been to the My Games & Apps section, found Assassin's Creed Origins and clicked on 'Manage Game'. From here you can view what content is currently installed on your console. If the DLC isn't there, redownload it all. If it is there, i'd advise to uninstall it all and redownload it. You cannot lose digital content as you own the license so it sounds like it's just not on your hard drive currently which is why you've lost access to it or it may have been corrupted during the transfer.
Due to the original problem I had, with a game message claiming I don't own content when I clearly do, and that it wasn't installed when it clearly was, any sort of fix involved NOT redownloading content. The original advice was to unplug from Live, play a new game to Siwa and save, shut down game, shut down xbox, unplug for a few minutes, reconnect everything, and then attempt to boot game (which would force a data sync with Ubisoft). If that didn't work, Ubisoft told consumers that the save file was gone and they were, essentially, SOL. Further instructions in that forum line stated NOT to redownload the DLC.
Now you're telling me to uninstall/reinstall all content.
What's your answer going to be when I uninstall all this, and when I go to reinstall via Microsoft Store/Game Manager, the store says must buy the Gold Edition AGAIN (since, you know, I own it NOW)?
The XBOX Live store will reconfirm all of your DLC content that you have purchased, and in doing to may finally SEE the hidden ones DLC that it did not see the first time. Yes a had basiclly the same problem when it first came out. Matter fact, I wiped and restored my whole console and it reloaded all my games plus DLC and saves back onto my XBOX X. BTW if the save is Corrupted, they cant do nothing about that. But in your case in just sound like it doesnt see the DLC. if the above doesnt work, go in like your going to buy the DLC again/ or Season pass(if thats what you bought) and it will make the Xboe Store check your DLC content you purchsed. Some times its just stuck. My gamer tag is Vengence1979 on xbox. feel free to message me and ill try to help you. I been there man, i know it sucks but im sure we can figure it out
