I think the toxicity solution is easier than you're making it Ubi
1. Why do we even need an all chat? Can we FINALLY get the option to only enable team chat?
2. Why can't we just have a "sensitivity filter" that you can enable that just doesn't show chat messages with words that people would find offensive? I personally don't care what people call me and I want to see obscene comments so I would shut that off for myself.
3. I don't think bans are a good idea when we talk about speech. How can you ever determine intent? I jokingly tell my best friend he's "****ing Gay Lmao". We call each other's jews like Kenny calls Kyle in south park not with racist intent but as a reference to the show. My friends joke that I mispronounce the word kite to sound like **** so it's become a meme for us. Obviously we respect other people so we NEVER use the word outside of group because people won't get the inside joke, they would think it's just racist but it's not the intent. Granted we use discord anyway but this seems like a really bad idea. How can you possibly determine intent accurately? What about my half black best friend? Is he not allowed to use the N word (which is hands down the most common profanity used in the chat)?
Finally, I have to point out that we are playing a game about literally shooting people in the head or blowing them to smithereens with explosives. How can one handle gore and murder but not air vibrations? It is sad that this is what Ubi resorts to as a result of an even sadder reality of anonymity on the Internet.
Ubis solution seems like the wrong way.
