Social Experiment?
The change to getting 5 phones for a pvp pack has created a social experiment almost. Before most people playing were looking for the win, not only for the lockers but possibly for a pvp pack as well. Now not needing the win for a pack, the focus is taken away from playing smart and going for the victory, but just getting a phone or two just so you can get your pvp pack.
The social experiment part is will higher ranking players show mercy to lower ranks in pvp. For example, when you're matched up against someone 2+ levels above you. They have the obvious advantage and unless they are trying out a new deck, they will crush you.
So will the higher ranking player let the lower rank take 2 bars and they take 3? I have only had this happen twice to me since the update. Just today I was outranked and just needed 1 for a pack. The opponent played cyborg Kenny and a Sally first moves. I play an astronaut butters and a bg Al behind his players. He seemed very confused and fought back originally (mind control) but when he saw I did no counter and just wanted a bar, he let it go. I took my one bar, said thanks and good game and then let him take rest of the 3.
The vast majority of times people don't let that move slide. They take all the phones and leave you with none. You can look at it as greed or possibly lack of trust that the lower rank will abide by unspoken agreement and not try to go for the win.
Either way, it's interesting to me to see people react when I try to initiate something like this.It's really nice when people are cool and generous in a competitive game like this. So to all those cool people, thanks!

I just popped into legendary and, almost as if a point of pride, superior players will not let me get a phone off them, even when they're walking over me and have me knocked down 2 phones.
On the other hand, when i see a player a level or two lower than me, i'll gladly surrender 1 or 2 phones to them if i see that i'm the stronger player... as long as they don't spam the laugh emoji at me
