Far Cry 4 does not launch - out of solutions

Hi, I installed FC4 on my new PC.

    The specs are:

    Intel Core i9 7980XE
    Nvidia GeForce 1080 Ti
    64 GB RAM
    Windows 10

Every time I try to launch it the small FC4 splash screen appears and then it says:
    "FC4 has stopped working"

I remember I had the same problem on my old PC and somehow fixed it - but I can not remember how.

    - So I googled that it might help to disable the Uplay overlay - didn't help.
    - Then i read an article that ANNO 2025 is not able to handle the 18 cores of the i9 7980XE which can be fixed by disabling 2 cores in the BIOS. Tried that for FC4 - but with no luck.

Any more ideas? I would really like to play on my new machine...

I do think the core of the problem is your 18 cores. Pun intended.

Can't you disable more cores, or set the processor to some kind of "Game compatibility mode" that does that for you? Try bringing it down to 4 active cores, if the game works with that go up 1 core at a time until the game doesn't work anymore. Then you'll have found the sweet spot. ;P

There are many specifications for the Far Cry game, the game has a high graphics display with some high-quality gameplay. Thus it results in the requirement of a well-built PC specification. The HP users after facing the game crashing issue on the HP devices can check HP Technical Support which will give all the recommendations of this issue and will allow the users to install the game correctly or repair the game so that it doesnot crash.

FC IV doesn't work on more than 8 cores. You should have known that since like years ago... There's no Anno 2025 it's 2205 :P And with all those cores you'll have like... 10 FPS more than my 8 cores CPIU anyway :P Unless you wanna play two games in the same time, which I can do on my again 8 cores CPU also.
