I have been playing For Honor since day 1 and noticed that Warden hasn't received any reworks to his abilities, combos or neither buffs through 5 seasons and had nerfs instead. This makes the Warden to be at a disadvantage when compared to most other heroes in the roster such as the Centurion or Kensei. I think they should add a buff by reworking some of the Wardens abilities so that he can be more useful. In the ways I want him to be buffed are to give him a set of unblockable attacks and to give him another type of attack.
The Warden's Unblockable attack is a heavy attack will be always unblockable for a overhead but this will do damage as the original overhead damage and will be slow as the orginal overhead heavy attack. This makes it easier for the Warden to excute a punish after he throws opponents on the wall so that they aren't able to block or even parry and guarantees a successfull punish where it's meant.
The other unblockable attacks will be heavies as well but will have to be charged similar to the centurions or highlanders, this unblockable attack will be a spear attack and can only be executed on the sides, once charged the attack will make the Warden spear his sword into his opponent leaving him open to be shoulder bashed. The time frame will be similar to the Centurion in which the oppenent impaled can be freed after a frame of time. The Warden can then follow up for a fully charged shoulder bash and risk getting hit and can execute a overhead heavy or to simply do a normal shoulder bash and follow up with the double strike side attacks. However the heavy spear attack can be easily parried like the overhead heavy and can only be successful if the opponents light attack was parried or the opponent was walled.
The Warden should have a type of attack similar to the Lawbringer. In which he can stab with his sword after blocking an attack. The attack has to be fully blocked for the Wardent to stab his opponent as a uninterrupted attack won't allow it to be exectured.
The reason I want Warden to be reworked is beacuse he is simply worst than most other heros in for honor. He has a slow guard change and not to mention his nerf to his canceling ability and crunshing counter strike and shoulder bash and has a relatively small combo set. Other heros of the same class are now performing better than the Warden after the update such as the Kensei in this case where most of his abilites are buffed and now has a new combo set.
I just hope that this suggestion will be taken into cosideration or that Warden will have a buff in future updates.
Thanks, if you read this.
yea i would like to see thatwarden its my main and favorite not becouse vortex or his strenght but becouse he is a total badass ( as ilidan voice ) xD and he truly looks as a knight ( FK you centurion, gladiator, sparta, arabil warrior or whatever sh!t people post to add to the knights go back to the era you came from) and its a shame that such a cool design character its so lame atm ( 2-3 attacking skills
) and people call us noobs for playing warden
and spaming vortex well its his only move xD what do you whant to throw sticks at you?!
I second this; Warden is by far the hardest to use in 1v1. Kensei was re-vamped, but not Warden?? The only real viable mixup he has is to either delay the shoulder bash or cancel it into GB, which is easily countered by dodging left or right and GBing. This will result in either a GB landing on the Warden or youll end up canceling his GB after he cancels the bash. He is easily readable, and anyone with a decent know-how can defeat him too easily.
Possible ideas:
-Give him a continuous heavy circular attack, similar to Highlander's
-Allow for more than 2 light attacks in a combo, no reason he cant swing his weapon till out of stamina like other heroes
-Maybe after a throw he can perform a cancel-able uninteruptible similar to Kensei
- A dash light attack similar to Orochis? Hes wearing plate mail so it would be slower I would imagine
Megano1d I fully agree with the Lawbringer attack idea, blocking in full then being able to quickly riposte with a light attack, very good idea
FizzyPigeon9310 has also mentioned in another thread to give him an execution referencing Monty Python's black knight scene in The Holy Grail; chops off the opponents arms, then legs, then lets him wobble around with no limbs! Hahahahaa
