If you're not a native speaker, I doubt you have anything to fear from the system. I'm not a native English speaker either and I have to go out of my way to learn most of what is considered racist(or anything not allowed here). Unless your friends are swearing machines, I doubt you'll say those things by "accident".

Well first i've gotta say that i'm against it. Why? because they wanna ban "hatespeech", which, as you may know, has no legal definition.
    ...
You cannot be serious can you?

Most countries have anti hate speech laws which clearly define what is and what is not hate speech. Please feel free to learn what is and isn't considerate hate speech in your country or any countries you would like to visit in the future.

    Here's a list by country.

Ubisoft is catering to the moronic crybabies of the Reddit hive mind that spill their tears into words before spilling their brains IRL. Sticks and stones may break my bones but words WILL MAKE ME CRY, SEND ME TREMBLING TO THE MUTE BUTTON BEFORE I HAVE A TOTAL MENTAL BREAKDOWN AND POST ABOUT IT ON REDDIT FOR ALL THE SHEEP TO BAHH IN AGREEMENT WITH ME! An M rated game based around intense violence and destruction will have chat based filters that discriminate against free speech. Hilarious. If someone calls me the N word I just laugh it off, same with any other ethnic slur they can muster up. Ubisoft representatives are now acting as overprotective parents, and if players can't handle "Hate speech" then they're in for a rude awaking in the real world, which is why I'm sure they would rather spend all day on the internet in their own bubble.

The only, and I mean ONLY point where a line should be drawn is in telling others to "Go kill yourself" or to threaten them with bodily harm. Anything else is free speech, even if you don't agree with it, and should not be policed by these beta-male moderators/players. This system will backfire in a big way. So your system detects I'm talking trash, I tell some guy who has been beating me and I finally killed to "Die f*cker!" in good spirit and suddenly your system detects that I'm being "Very mean, very hateful!" and bans my account. Then I have to go to Ubisoft support (Mouthbreathers) and tell them that when in a competitive environment, things that your moronic system thinks is mean is actually said in good fun in an intense situation. This is what happens when a company bends over to a very vocal high pitched minority.

Forget fixing the easily exploitable team killing, forget fixing the bugs in your game, it's SPEECH IN A COMPETITIVE ONLINE ENVIRONMENT that should be worked on and addressed. That's an absolute loser mentality. Not everyone is of the temperament to say "Great game guys!" "Wow incredible, you're the best!" "Good try old boy!" "Great shot my chummy chum chum!" when either winning/losing. This will cause more problems them solve, and I personally hope your system/support team gets flooded with so many false bans and suspensions that you lose sleep and are overworked on incorrect reports. No other online game is policing speech in this way except for League of Legends, and we know that's only for weebs and mental weaklings such as the ones you're catering to now.

Hey Morfanos, what country do you live in? I live in the USA, and if you go to the Wiki page you'll see basically ZERO rules on speech or what cry babies like you consider to be "Hate speech" and it's still being debated by whiny liberals like you. Most Countries are not like the USA

I'll quote Epi from a response on Reddit:

"we understand that it is a competitive game and there will be some degree of trash talking/"swear words" used. We are expecting people not to take it too far with slurs and hate speech."

Is it really that difficult for you to not say the obviously inflammatory and completely unnecessary things we're focusing on with this?
We've even confirmed that "f**k" is not going to be a bannable word - I.E. you can still swear like a sailor if you so please, as long as you're not targeting someone with racist/homophobic/sexist hate speech.

If you can't adhere to this simple aspect, you'll face the penalties.

+Unnecessary insults towards other users lessens the impact of your arguments. It will also result in punishments on the forums, so keep that in mind going forward.

Exactly! Most of the world isn't the USA...

This game is made in Canada by a French publisher.

Welcome to the world my friend, where you(as an individual, not the USA) are currently that vocal high pitched minority.

PS:In case this could be misinterpreted as an anti USA posts by some of my fellow forum members, it is not, it is a direct reply to the one quoted.

    new option

I know there is a lot of controversy about the chat ban another options would be disabling chat box. It helps knowing you can mute and chat box can also be helpful.

The in-game text chat CAN be turned off, but it currently has to be completely turned off (friendly and enemy messages will NOT show up.)
