The game flat out needs to only allow one of a hero per team. Once that hero is picked, the portrait is greyed out, and you have to select something different.
There are enough heroes in the pool now to facilitate this; and it will force players to expand their hero pool knowledge and experience.
Its getting really old seeing 3 centurions in a match; or 3 kensai; or 2 conqs, and 2 pks; or 2 shaman and 2 nobushi.....
Please put this in. it takes little to no effort to make this happen, and it starts to make your game take strategy in team building. Because after this step, comes banning heroes during draft phase.
While I understand the logic behind this concept, I would have to disagree with you. People should be allowed to choose whatever they want. And theoretically, that would mean you need at least 4 characters fully geared in order to always be able to compete. Some people just wanna choose one or two characters. If someone else picks them first, they're stuck using a character they may not even have leveled at all and they would be more likely to lose because of that.Originally Posted by Eidetik Go to original post
It's not like overwatch or whatever where you don't have to level up to unlock more things. You dont get gear in games like that. That's why you can have an option that limits characters. This game is different and would be pretty bad for everyone.
When I see 3 shamans in opponents party, I can bet whatever you want that they will be running together and SPAM. And it's almost impossible to deal with then even 2v3 fight. So they kill 2 people on one point, than go to the next. And like hangry insects destroy everithing.
So, yeah, I think Ubi should let choose one character. Than, they should remove that stupid gear stats to avoid problem of "I didn't leveling it"
Let's say you want to play a match with the new reworked berserker, but you would also like to play as an orochi. You enter the matchmaking and both are blacked out because someone with the same idea was a bit faster. Now, you can either play through a 10 minutes long match with a character you don't like (or not in the mood of), or you can disconnect/leave, ruining the match for everyone. It's a game, and if people are forced in any way to do something else they want to, they will find an other hobby. I personally play almost half of the characters, but I would be pissed if I would want to play a character and the game wouldn't allow it. And if a character is locked out during the last part of certain orders, it also ruins the xp game. There are also people with only one character, and if that's what they enjoy, why should they be punished?
Three players moving together is beatable by three of the other team standing up against them, or by taking the places where they don't go. If one or two team mates are less experienced, than there isn't much to do, though they could buff revenge a bit. Balancing a shaman is a different story, it's still obviously overpowered.
Well, I prefer to play different characters. If I will find myself in situation like you discribe, I'll be fine. I have only 5 chars in roster, that I can't play.
Maybe It's MOBA player talks within me.
And For Honor players were stay on one char mostly cause of gear stats, I believe. Especialy now, when new players do not visit this game, and you play with 180 gear chars all the time. So, Ubi need just remove gear from the game. Rework this system to customaze visuals, not stats.
I think single pick is great. It does belong in ranked mode though.
Every multiplayer game worth something has well populated ranked modes because that's where everything counts.
The devs have to changes this and the only to create that incentive is by doubling steel and XP gain in the ranked modes compared to unranked.
