    Group Connectivity Issues

When trying to connect to a friend of mine (we’ll call him friend A), it takes around 20 minutes to actually form a group so we can play. When accepting in-game invitations (‘invite to group’), it appears to try to connect us, then sends a message along the lines of ‘connection to group failed, try again later’.

However, when connecting to another friend of mine (we’ll call him friend B), connection is perfectly fine, for both me and friend A. Furthermore, if B is the group leader and sends me and A invites, we can both join a group together in what seems to be a normal fashion.

This is quite frustrating, as A and I cannot ask B to play every time we want to play For Honor, and the ~20 minutes of connection issues are quite off-putting.

Any help on this would be appreciated

Hey guys! If you are experiencing issues connecting to one person in particular, I recommend making sure you aren't mixing NAT types. Mixing NAT types can cause issues such as this. I also recommend you and your friend try connection troubleshooting (PC, PS4, Xbox) to make sure nothing is blocking the connection between you two. If that doesn't help, please create a ticket at support with a screenshot of your forwarded ports.

My friend and have tried having both of our NAT types on Open, which hasn’t worked, and we’ve both ran the connection troubleshoot, which told both of us that everything should work.

I suppose I’ll have to submit a ticket now. Thanks for replying

UPDATE: I suppose I should mention that the dedicated servers have fixed this issue, so I guess it worked out...

I hate to necro, but the issue was only resolved for about a week after the introduction of dedicated servers, and it’s quite frustrating that this occurs.

It should be mentioned that my friend and I have no issue connecting in any other game, which leads to the logical conclusion that the issue is on Ubisoft’s end.

I do hope that there is an actual solution to this problem that we’ve somehow missed over the months, but that chance seems to diminish by the day, and my regard of Ubisoft’s reputation with it.

Of course, the satisfaction of a couple of customers is likely inconsequential in the grand view of things, but help would be much appreciated.

Hi Anomynion! I looked onto your account and noticed you appear to play FH on Xbox. I strongly recommend these steps for Xbox players and their friends. If you are still having issues with connecting as a group, please make a ticket with a screenshot of your port forwarding. Our technical team can look into this for you with that information available. Thanks!
