Ive seen a few posts saying how people think thermal vision is OP on drones and stuff and it got me wondering if perhaps thermal vision was removed from the game and replaced with just better night vision. Its hard enough seeing enemies on night maps and drones get quite the advantage marking people when they are so easy to spot. It feels like if you dont have a thermal drone on your team on night maps you are at a disadvantage , and i dont like the idea of feeling like a certain playstyle or class is a "must have" on certain maps or weather conditions. Thoughts?
Omg you guys want this game to die. Out of 4 classes 3 you can see and get rid of u dont need thermal but it helps. But the perks you have to change are more useful then thermal.Originally Posted by Willis892 Go to original post
I understand not wanting to feel forced into a meta. Will be sure to keep an eye on this thread.Originally Posted by Willis892 Go to original post
I completely agree. no need to squash thermal completely. bad enough that only drone operators can take it, and only if they use a perk on itOriginally Posted by DesertDog1178 Go to original post
But why is it necessary? Its not needed to spot pathfinders as they arent that hard to see/hear. It makes it very easy to spot anyone on any weather condition/time , perhaps too easy? I main scout and diversionist but im more interested in balance rather than having my fav classes stay potentially overpowered. Ive yet to see a real argument for why thermal NEEDS to be in the game. Im not saying it SHOULD be removed, im just trying to get a feel for how everyone feels about it.
In my opinion, the Scout class with drone allows a slightly faster pace of the game. The thermal camera keeps the same pace at night. You can also do the same thing with a sentinel but less noticeable and a bit slower in the pace of the game. I do not think the thermal camera is overwhelming because Sentinel seems to compensate for the difference between classes. I use a lot of Sentinel because she can be completely obscure and the weapons are effective. The SR25 is a good short and medium-distance weapon and with other weapons you can kill with one head shot. Tip for night vision for users, use binoculars with it.
