I was playing the other night looking at the map thinking this looks a lot like Afghanistan in places. It would be very easy for you guys to make a middle east expansion fighting terrorists using the same map style. Change the clothes, language, add lots of tunnel systems, change the foliage alittle, and remove the jungle and swamps. I'm a old school GR player and you should do like they did with the old games (island thunder and desert siege) expansions with the same format. You need to listen to the community and as of right now you are losing your fan base because you are moving away from what Ghost Recon always was and doing what you want not what the community wants. That is a losing decision on your part.
"Very easy" may be an exaggeration for the requested content. Possibly my first defense of Ubi. I love the idea because of the relatable content of Afghanistan deployments, but it would honestly have to be a brand new game. Pashto, Dari, and etcetera would need to be recorded for cutscenes as well as rendering of local clothing. So far, Ubi has implied that no minor correction is worth the effort, so I definitely don't see Afghanistan being a theme until a sequel/separate game.
No offense OP, but PLEASE, don't encourage Ubi to do more lazy reskinning. They already used the same basic map layout of Far Cry 3, 4, and Primal, by just reskinning it.
Many have applauded them (including myself), for finally coming up with an entirely new base map layout in Far Cry 5, while even doing away with the tower unlocking. The HUD is also less cluttered, and AI much more interactive. These are great changes they've made, let's encourage that instead of reusing map layouts for other games.
Ubi is doing well enough financially now to make each game unique.
