I " loved " getting lost in NA lol. I honestly loved the historical ships and the combat, did not really mind most days the travel times unless I was trading. It was the focus on Econ that killed the game for me. I get 60-90 minutes playtime on my days I can play, spending all that time being forced to do Econ for 5 days just to be able to afford a ship to use in a fight, if I lost would need to spend another week of Econ to replace.Originally Posted by Vendow. Heh, "Golden Age of Piracy", that phrase always cracks me upOriginally Posted by Grivois_Gaulois Go to original postWe might as well say "golden age of bubonic plague" or "golden age of the inquisition" LoL
Afaik nobody ever become rich for being questionned by the inquisition or for having catched the plague...Originally Posted by flynlion Go to original post
No one got rich by being attacked by pirates either, but a lot of people got rich by interrogating at the inquisition or selling fake cures for the plague.Originally Posted by Grivois_Gaulois Go to original post
People may not have gotten rich by being attacked by Pirates but there are some cases where some Pirates became incredibly rich from being Pirates...hence the Golden Age of Piracy. It was a time when Piracy was at it's peak/ is looked upon and romanticised by history.Originally Posted by flynlion Go to original post
I understand the phrase and where it came from I just think it's a rather funny and oxymoronic combination of words. It makes me laughOriginally Posted by Stainless001 Go to original post![]()
