If they would do something so stupid as get rid of backstepping, they might as well get rid of all Assassin classes, because nobody will play them.

I think what might be more useful, is saying what class you are using and who is getting away from you. When an assassin is oos in front of me and starts making a break for it, they get punished hard from a dodge with a gb or I chase them down with a number of running attacks/chasing lights.

If you're close enough, sure they can't get away easily without you grabbing them, if they make one parry or one CGB that creates enough space that they can just back dodge spam until they have their stamina back. On the other hand if they put themselves out of stamina by attacking and you can't attack or GB right away they can just mash back dodge and get away from anyone who is a slower class.

Not sure why anyone thinks assassin OOS should be any different than non assassins, its too safe as it is, with zerker you dodge back 6-8 feet every time, you actually have to defend and CGB with non assassins when OOS. Side dodges and blocking should be enough to get your stamina back. I'm not saying take back dodges out completely, but they should half the distance or give it a cool down.

Well for one an assassin goes down super quick when caught in anything, and every other class isn’t using a reactive guard, so I assume that’s the trade off. To your same point, if you don’t think assassins should be any different while oos, then don’t you think it should be fair that everyone else loses their easy-mode Defense? I honestly tear apart most assassins who go oos whereas the rest can go full turtle mode a whole lot easier and defend their way out of it. I generally main orochi/raider and can definitely say as raider I’ll go in all defence and come out of it whereas orochi, you can’t afford any mistakes. Its all about getting the hell out of dodge, scuse the pun.

They didnt say they git rid of them.
They said they are gonna tweak them (Shinob backflipp is considered a special move)
If you are oos you can still block parry and sidestep no need to ***** away unpunishable.

How do they go down quicker? HP is basically the same, assassin classes have very fast, almost unreactable light attacks with nearly unreactable feints, how is it easier for non assassins to defend? You try to parry and someone feints, you're going down regardless of class.

Uh... the OP says exactly that; “Get rid of them... nuff said”.

    Cool story tho.

The auto block from regular guard does make a difference. It takes away one of 3 zones to attack. Say VS a PK when I use a hero with the normal guard I can leave it on the right and watch for the top. When I use Orochi I have react to the zone and her top. It can be done it is just harder and takes more concentration . It takes user input which many things can factor into that being delayed. So sure I read she's gonna throw a zone but when my setup displays it and I react to the screen prompts I can be late. If I leave it on right guard for other heroes I can't get hit no matter what lag there is. This all isn't off topic as it sounds for this auto block helps OOS heroes as they retreat. This is all my experience on consoles anyway.
