    FC4 Map editor doesn't load?

FC4 Map editor only seems to work intermittently, and when it does it takes a crazy amount of time to load - at least 10 minutes, sometime 20 minutes to load.
Other times it just hangs on the loading screen forever.

I found a few other people have had this problem but have been unable to find any fixes

    - have re verified steam install
    - far cry 4 is not running in the background
    - I am opening the editor from the in game menu

    AMD Ryzen 5 1600

    GTX 1060 6gb

You could try setting the editor settings to its default values
Using Windows Explorer, check your Windows user's
    Documents\My Games\Far Cry 4\{SOME_UPLAY_HASH_VALUE_HERE}\
folder and rename the EditorGamerProfile.xml file. Then start the editor again.

If that doesn't fix it, it's something to do with the datfiles being loaded by the editor I think. That's far too uncommon...

I just ran into this problem as well.

I have been running FC4 flawlessly for months but recently have been playing online maps. I decided I wanted to tweak one of the online maps a little so installed the Editor.

Turns out the problem seems to be something with steam that corrupts things. Once the editor is installed it crashes before startup. In addition now FC4 crashes before startup. The only way to fix it is uninstall the mess and reinstall it. (WITHOUT THE MAP EDITOR) Which totally stinks.

Of course Steam foists it off on Ubisoft except it is something that steam does with their download. AND Of course steam is "unavailable" to be contacted to fix their screwup.

Looks like the only way to really fix it is get the game through UBISOFT which is another $30 and download it directly. Which stinks as well.
