Yes, you read right, remove Warlord from the game. You did it already once, so it won't be too hard. And now that you are at it, remove also the Lawbringer, the Shugoki and all SLOW HITTING characters that BASE THEIR PLAY STILE IN DEFENSE.
Leave Conqueror though, you been able to change him into a ballerina that does not use the shield except to attack, so you can leave him/her in.
What's wrong with your obsession against DEFENSE? For Honor IS A GAME ABOUT DEFENSE (if you are a heavy) and you just make it even more useless with every patch. Warlord is USELESS against the bosses of Test your Metal (specially part 2) and there is no way for him to fight any of the heroes BECAUSE HE HAS 2 COMBOS!
You increased chip damage (I have a shield but daggers damage me), added unblockables to combo-based characters like Berserker (WTF!?!?), added unblockables and millions of cancels to Kensei, and pretty much EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER has a million of unblockable options that make the SHIELDS JUST FREAKING USELESS.
You got a characteristic of the HEAVY characters (which was the uninterrumpible stance that was used to TRADE BLOWS because IT WAS THE ONLY WAY A HEAVY COULD LAND A HIT) and GAVE THEM TO EVERYONE! But not happy with that you also made (some of) those moves unblockable (something that Warlord doesn't even have) AND cancel-able for mixups (Wow! AWESOME)...
You are not even dealing with DEFENSE stats correctly in order to let heavies focus on tanking! So WTF are you doing? Oh yes, I remember now... "have a solution to people who are dedicated to blocking everything..." otherwise called GUYS WITH A SHIELD.
So that, just remove Warlord. You've killed him anyway.
Sorry, but we have no intention of removing the Warlord from the game. It's good to keep in mind that the current priority for the fight balance team is to bring the original 12 heroes in the game up to par with the rest of the hero roster. While Warlord may not perform as you'd like him to now, you may find that there are changes that you might enjoy in the future.
Ok, before moving forward: The title of this thread is ironic, just to make sure we are all on the same page.Originally Posted by UbiJurassic Go to original post
Now, replying to Jurassic's post:
But that's EXACTLY the problem right there: the original heroes served the purpose, it was the system that was wrong (or not quite right). And instead of fixing the system, you started adding new heroes ACCORDING to that (wrong) system. Those heroes were button mashers (kind of they had to be... forced by the wrong system), and after that (season 5) you decided to fix the system (finally) while changing the old heroes to match the new ones, ... so you are converting the old heroes into button mashers... and all that without even analyzing if the system changes worked or not... YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG.
I really hope I am the one who is wrong, but right now I have more faith in God than in you guys, and I'm an atheist.
Look at the first 30 seconds of this video, Jurassic:
With all your (Ubi) changes, this is what it has become of For Honor: two guys just pushing combinations of buttons without really caring about what the other one is doing... with that and seeing what you did to Conqueror, please allow me to be a bit sceptical about your ability to deliver changes that I "might enjoy in the future"...
Skepticism is fine, as we can't guarantee that future changes will be exactly what players are looking for with their favorite heroes. In general, the goal with the reworks was to preserve the general spirit of the original heroes, while also giving them the tools they need to remain competitive.Originally Posted by b1gb4d0rc Go to original post
I'm not sure that the video is the best example of button mashing. The Kensei definitely had the upper-hand for the beginning portion of the fight, but seemed to fall off after the Highlander Caber Toss caught him. He then fell for the Celtic Curse cancel and seemed to drop the inputs on blocking the last few light attacks. With that in mind, it doesn't seem like button mashing was a particular factor in the first 30 seconds of the video.
Overall, it's not the fight team's goal to make heroes into button mashers and I believe you'll find that many players on the forums would contest that button mashing is more likely to result in a loss than a win. Nevertheless, I appreciate you sharing your feedback and I'll pass it along.
Warlord had some really bad nerfs, he has no defence now and his attack damage sucks, they need to drop the stupid headbutt and give him a shield bash why would you headbutt someone if you have a shield, just give him his shield parry counter from neutral and some good chains like new conq, with a damage buff.
Warden has an unblockable opener (shoulder charge) that allows for some damage and cam be cancelled into a GB...Originally Posted by RoosterIlluzion Go to original post
Aramusha has unblockables (at least one) and his light combos are so fast reaction is impossible. Recovery time of Aramusha's light combo is lower than the attack itself (or almost). Feints are possible, making defense impossible.
PK has deflects, bleeding and a side-step that can feint anything, you might be right there but PK is quite good in general, has more pros other than combos.
EXACTLY for the first part, I'm not asking them to remove Warlord, it was irony...Originally Posted by Diresins_PSN

The video is not about button mashing but about two players spaming combos without considering the moves of the other player. That is what For Honor is now with the latest changes.
I obviously didn't choose the right words... Let's change "button mashing" for "spamy combos" and re-read the post, shall we?
You will change the Warlord and will give them new combos and unblockables, and he'll be through the battlefield moving like a butterfly, stinging like a bee, and...no. The Warlord (and the Conqueror at least) should do what they do best: DEFENSE and react from there.
HELL, DEFENSIVE PLAY SHOULD BE A PERFECTLY VALID OPTION and now it is not because you reward offensive play and every single character has something (mainly unblockables) to render defense useless... yeah, yeah, turtles bla bla bla...
You are not aiming correctly, you should change THE SYSTEM and THEN see if there is a character disadvantage and fix it. I could develop this some day, not through post though, too long.
If THE SYSTEM worked correctly, the Warlord would not need ANY change (almost) since a human being would be able to react to EVERY SINGLE ATTACK on the game. But that does not happen right now (in part, because the fast light combos like Aramusha, in part because of the impossible cancels and feints in the middle of a movement of the Kensei, the Raider or the Shaman to mention three...) and it happens less with every update.
You know, if I wanted to spam combos I would buy the new dragon ball...
