I made a post with the duel tier list for console. It needs more input from the community as it is not in its current state taking the season 5 changes into account.

Agree. People don't think about the differences between matchups. Pre season five there were bad ones. Now there are still harder ones than others but for duels the field is the most balanced it's ever been. No character is unusable anymore. Not so pre season five

S - Crap Internet and random assassins.
Light spam + lag kills this.

Duel perspective, considering season 5 changes:

    S Tier: Shaman, Gladiator

A Tier: Peacekeeper, Shinobi, Highlander, Kensei, Lawbringer, Conqueror

B Tier: Warden, Nobushi, Raider, Berserker, Warlord

    C+ Tier: Aramusha, Centurion, Shugoki

    C Tier: Orochi, Valkyrie

    Some notes:

    - if you play mostly assassins, Aramusha is a bigger problem, he definitely won't feel C+ Tier.
    - if you can deflect consistently like it's nobody's business, Orochi is solid B Tier. Otherwise he's bottom tier.
    - some Valkyrie mains are really scary and they don't make Valkyrie bottom tier at all in their hands. But they're rare.
    - most people who play Highlander are average with him. He's A Tier because of what he can do, not because of how people use him.
    - Centurion moved down after the parry changes. He gets less guaranteed damage and is now less scary.

With 1v1 in mind, If I’m being honest:

    S: shaman
A: glad, Kensei, conq, pk, Raider
B: Shinobi, LB, zerker, aramusha, HL, Warden, Nobushi
    C: WL, cent, goki
    D: orochi, valk

Duels only cause that's all I play:

    S tier= pk/conq, berzerker, gladiator.
A tier= Kensei, Shaman, Shinobi, warlord
B tier= Nobushi, highlander, centurion, raider
    C tier= Lawbringer, Valk, orochi, Warden/aramusha, goki.

EDIT: Going to clarify some of the positioning here just because I know someone is going to scoff at it if the thread doesn't die off. it usually happens.

pk/conq. I put them roughly at the same level because both are really hard to punish depending on how optimal the person is playing them. They both can be insanely aggressive as well. Pk is better at punishing over aggression. But conq is better at being reactive and playing safe. if conqs inf exploit was still in he'd be above pk. But pk is (imo) slightly above him just because of how people tend to play and her better damage profile.

Zerk is over gladiator because this new meta has much more attacking going on. Zerk being able to have hyper armor up basically the entire fight along with incredible speed for either lights or heavies in most directions AND unblockables just makes him better in terms of aggression. Gladiator is far better at dealing with overly defensive/passive players but since there is much less of that going on now glad just isn't as good by proxy of that.

Kensei over shaman. I just KNOW i'm going to be flamed for this. But It's only because I started playing shaman again and how things are for her really sank in for me. We now live in a meta where aggression is much more frequent. And this is insanely bad for her because she has so many setup animations for mix ups that i'm often found being attacked out of my mixups. I've had to hard feint into soft feint in order to actually do anything to people. or over spend stamina feinting repeatedly into something out there just to get damage in. And since the parry changes landed she's got some of the worst punishes in the game by far.
Kensei's new kit helps. But the main reason he's placed higher is literally just because shaman is much worse off. He's got armor more frequently now too. Which just suits this current meta.

Bushi is over highlander due to range and some new combos/mix ups. Despite all the buffs HL received it's still too easy to read and shut him out. my main issue with him is how easy his feint game is to read.

Centurion is only over raider because centurions heavies are safer. Raider imo now has a better mix up. and insta stampede is still cheesy and good. And in the off chance that centurion manages to either splat with his parry counter or trick someone in his soft feint mix up he's still strong. So. centurion is above. but by a hair.

LB over valk because ad mortem is a more consistent punish. valk lost her 60 punish. and he still has shove on block. Valk over warden because her dashes are safe now. (least the side ones) and her mix up game is better.

Mushu is too predictable. Even though he'd be seeing more use of BB because of more people attacking now it's still too inconsistent and not rewarding enough. But. at least he's not goki.
