    Shinobi vs Season 5

Shinobi received his biggest nerf yet. Without them even doing anything specifically to him. Dodging received a huge nerf, which if I’m not mistaken he was built with dodging as his main line of defense. Its now the most useless way to get away from any hero with range attacks. Which he is still supposed to counter. His sickle Rain off light parry was his main source of damage, which was the only thing that balanced him out if not made him pretty decently strong. Not op but plenty good enough. You just took his two biggest positives and threw em out. His close range moveset is awful. Simply awful. Zone gives them free attacks, drains your stamina, can’t be cancelled. Heavies are unpredictable idk when its just gonna throw out a range when I wanted a normal heavy n then I get guard broken over it, his normal heavy is too bad obvious to be useful close range. His double dodge can be guard broken off of reaction unless you use lights, which isn’t fun to spam one attack. Which is his only viable one now. If Shinobi got a full rework with this same concept he might be viable. But I doubt it. Shinobi needs a new concept rework if he’s gonna be viable now. Since you change core game mechanics without thinking of hero impacts. I’m not gonna suggest anything simply because I know it’s not gonna matter what I suggest. I’ll just receive hate for it. But he needs a kensei size rework now because of season 5. Avoid making him op like kensei now tho so I don’t feel like a ****** for playing him

I don't think he needs a rework. Just a correct tweak back to it's origin.

His old kick was his way to open people. Main issue was, it guaranteed a heavy instead of a light and was not that easy to dodge.
Basically conq got the same thing with shield bash right now. I think for him it's a light after, but the bash itself is a bit broken like the old shinobi kick.
Devs never learn, never ever will learn. sadFace

As someone who started playing Shinobi recently (just before Season 5) and enjoyed it so much I started maining him, I honestly don't understand where the issue is.

Firstly, what is wrong with his dodging,e exactly? Sure, it's annoying to get gaurd broken over it, but isn't that just how to ball rolls for assassins? Dodge is the counter to attacks that can't be interrupted by a gaurdbreak, and gaurdbreak is the counter to dodges. Rock, Paper, Scissors.

As for sickle rain no longer being gaurenteed? I'll be honest, I don't see an issue with this. Sickle rain is one of Shinobi's most devestating moves, and it leaves the victim helpless for a fair bit of time. It shouldn't be something you can do easily. It's up there with Centurian's charged heavy punch-kick-pounce combo. Perhaps it could do with a damage buff or a more punishing bleed to make up for the difficulty. But I don't like the idea of "gaurented" cutscene combos.

I will agree that Shinobi's close-range heavy attacks can be frustrating when they keep coming out as ranged throws, but that, I think, is just a matter of tightening up the controls a bit.

Centurion lost the charged heavy off of a parry. He no longer has easy access to this. Only way to get it is a parry that wall splats, which if you wait too long, you wont get a heavy period. Or get a GB into a wall.((LOL))

He needs the ability to charge his heavy out of a roll.
This would allow you to mess with the attack timing and throw a little variance in the attacks.

The reason behind this is to allow you to GB your opponent after they whiff an attack. Which is a bit clunky at the moment because you have to wait him to reset, and THEN charge the attack, which ends up being countered, and then you die.

This is my biggest suggestion, which wouldn't require a whole lot of work because everything is already in place, they just need to adjust some timings, and delays.

Shinobi needs two things, better dodges because his get you hit, or GB constantly by even low tier players. This combined with the fact that his spin kick takes two dodges to use makes him have basically no opener attack. And he needs a combo doesn't have to be a great one just something that isn't light attack spamming, as his current build

People saying Shinobi doesn't need a buff or rework - Have you played him in other game modes other than Domination? His moveset is extremely limited when faced 1v1 with an opponent.
He is the only character that gets tossed to the ground after getting range parried for a FREE heavy by other characters.
THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. A ranged heavy is just that a heavy... the shinobi should get punished like everyone else with a guaranteed light after a heavy parry, not a guaranteed heavy from the opponent. This makes using ranged out of the question because the risk far outweighs the reward. You guys have to take account in duels and brawls - Shinobi already has weak attack and low HP. His moveset should allow him more than a few quick close up lights, and death sentence ranged heavies.

Seriously, play the Shinobi outside of Domination for and face different chars/opponents. You will see why he needs a rework (not buff) to his moveset.
In a 1v1 you may win the first 2 rounds just because your opponent hasn't figured you out yet. Once they do you're working extremely hard to get that win.
For instance the raider can top light into a unblockable heavy OR guard break which leaves you with a 33% chance of guessing which one he'll do. With a Shinobi, it's telegraphed even if you throw in a few feints. So, that being said his ranged should not guarantee a free heavy from his opponent if it gets parried.

His ranged grab - why is it he gets knocked on his *** without the chance to break out of the guard break? Other chars get guard broken yet have a chance to get out of it. Why doesn't this apply to the shinobi? Just because he's ranged? Okay so a ranged heavy or ranged grab allows an opponent to free heavy your ***, great. This is why the Shinobi needs a rework.

If you haven't spent more than 50 hours on the Shinobi, you really don't understand what his problems are. His ranking in Domination is A - S class, but his Duel and Brawl is more of an D -

You must be a troll with him to be good. Don't do the same thing. Don't stay in close range and the most important thing, wait for the enemy attack. Bait him.

Shinobi already has the lowest health pool in the game, the last we need is to get punished for a failed ranged attack which everyone knows is easy to parry. One or two mistakes and a Shinobi is dead, we need better dodges and move sets that don't cripple us just for using it. The Shinobi has the most vulnerable moves in the game and it needs to get fixed since we're already fragile.
