Can we please get the heading compass thats in GW in campaign for improving the information we can pass to teammates in COOP? Maybe even as a little extra have the AI tell us things like "Two tangos at 215" In the very least i'd really like to see the headings implemented to campaign.
If PvE had a compass, I would probably have no need for the minimap at that point since I only really use it for orientation.
Ubi moved away from the minimap in AC:O and is doing the same in FC5. Personally, I find it more immersive as it keeps the HUD cleaner without the minimap. In FC5, objective icons, vehicle icons and other markers appear on the horizontally scrolling compass at the top of the screen. I'm assuming these icons could be switched off depending on what options you choose.
LOL, "IN" the stack of tires? Reminds me of poor Marcelo from Max Payne 3 meeting his end in flames inside a stack of tires. I can just see it now, you hear a Santa Blanca dude say, "Hey amigo, could you help me, I got too wasted and wound up in a stack of tires again"? Totally Cheech and Chong dialog.Originally Posted by GiveMeTactical Go to original post
Anyways, as far as navigation goes, I really liked the way they did driving and maps in Far Cry 2. All the driving was in cockpit view, and you could even pull out the map while driving. Funny thing is, it's also my least fave FC game, for other reasons. Of course the driving at release worked a lot better in that game though.
As far as for GR though, I feel to make sense with all this tech gear, it's gotta have a more modern nav system than mere compass, something like GPS. I mean modern militaries have been using satellites mostly for some time. I also wouldn't mind seeing some advanced tech like the laptops that commanders use to see enemy position, which can show on lenses worn by his squad, and even gun cams for shooting around objects. I'm talking Land Warrior gear.

That said, I could totally see an analog compass being carried as a backup nav tool in case of an EMP attack. In fact I think this kind of thing could be the basis for a good mission, or even entire set of missions in a certain region.
I love how they are always "by the garbage pile" or whatever they say when the guy is in a house or the middle of a forest.Originally Posted by GiveMeTactical Go to original post
Agree, However i wouldn't like the idea of the icons on the compass.Originally Posted by Kean_1 Go to original post
For me it feels more realistic to have the objective icons for example on the actual objective because of how the crosscom works.
But yes i like the idea of a compass now that the PVP has it, there's no excuse of why it wouldn't make its way to PVE
