When is Valkyrie going to be fix, she is one of the forgotten characters, her jump and dodge attacks still give free guardbreak if blocked and they don’t cause as mach damage as other characters, Shaman, Aramusha Peacekeeper all get a heavy from their jump attacks and not free guard break, Berserker, I know is no as fast as Valkyrie, doesn’t give a free guardbreak gets hyperarmor and still can continue his combo, Nobushi, Orochi and Kensei not free guardbreak after their dodge attacks, Gladiator is the only one that gives you a free guardbreak but his damage is a lot higher than Valkyrie.
Unblockable is other problem her fully charged unblockable can be stopped by all other unblockables, Conqueror, Nobushi, Gladiator, Lawbringer, Etc, if it was fair Valkyrie fully charged Shield Tackle should stop and send flying any othe characters that try to counter her unblockable with another unblockable, as hers take longer to perform and even more if dodged she is fully expose from a guardbreak or attack.
New meta has damage her strongest move, (parry, guard break and Ram,s headbutt, it many times would leave your enemies without stamina and open for a big damage) then why not give her a bigger stamina damage to her Shield Crush and maybe stun, other characters have a bigger damage on your stamina and a free lights after their Unblock-able, why no her???? Her unblockable doesn't give her a free light unless charged and if it’s dodge free guard break!!!!!! (Yes you can then do a Spear Sweep but is to slow and risky) Characters like Conqueror, Warden Nobushi, Warlord, Centurion, Shinobi and sometimes Shaman all get free light from their umblockables not to count Lawbringer that can get a light unless dodge but you risk to give in a free guard break and Gladiator that doesn’t get a free light but stunts you so why not Valkyrie?????
Heavies to slow, lights to slow and on top of that low damaged, as a character that depends only on her lights, ( no body that plays Valkyrie uses her heavies unless you got a guardbreak, parry, or to cancels and do something else), her second and third light are very slow and predictable, you get parried all the time if you try your combo and even with the new changes other characters still get a heavy from that parry just for what? A Very low damage to the enemies???, so many times I have to only use one light and stop because my enemy always parry the second light. It would be nice if her heavy gets hyperarmor and you could do light + heavy+ Light or ligh+heavy +heavy, also as her heavy is so slow why not give more damage???
And last, her spear sweep is crap in games like dominion, her time of recovery after It’s huge and only knocks down one enemy at a time ahh but if a friend is next to you he’ll go down too??? Seriously!!!, that means that if you have another enemie next to you you’ll be exposed to attacks and guard-breaks. Please at least if you don’t knock all all them down you should be able to guard against attacks and guard breaks.

I proposed these changes a while back:
- A Light-Heavy-Light chain. This will make her attacks timings less predictable and you can feint the second heavy into shield crush for additional mix up.
- Pouncing Thrust can come from all directions, not just top. This will make it less predictable. The cancel from Shield Tackle will actually be useful.
- Slightly less stamina intense move set cost for sustained mix ups.
- Pouncing Thrust and Hunter's Strike are no longer punishable with GB on block.
- Basic Light Dmg 12 -> 13
- Second Chain Light Dmg 18 -> 17
- Stun effect on Shield Tackle removed.
- Stun effect on Sheld Crush added.

-superior block on side dodge attack(hunter strike)
-Incorporate dodge attack as a second attack of any chain
-Shield crush give a hyper armor if the heavy touch the enemy(blocked or hit).
-Dodging out of shield tackle improved recovery
-superior block on side dodge attack: Valkyrie have superior block on side dodge attack(if timed with enemy attack,otherwise its a simple dodge attack). This also mean you can dodge out of shield crush into a superior block.This superior block i am talking about is not a deflect into light but a superior block like highlander.A comfirmed superior block give a guaranteed sweep.
-Incorporate dodge attack as a second attack of any chain: a combo out of a shield crush look like : shield crush into side dodge attack,heavy.(the 3rd hit of the chain as usual let you sweep or heavy). The side dodge attack count for a 2nd attack of the combo.
-Shield crush give a hyper armor if the heavy touch the enemy(blocked or hit): That way the light after shield crush will get hyper armor which mean if the light after shield crush is blocked you can still follow with the 3rd heavy. if you only soft feint the heavy you dont get hyper armor activated.
Note: shoulder pin also give hyper armor on shield crush.And the same hyper armor rule apply to the dodge attack out of shield crush.
-Dodging out of shield tackle improved recovery: At the moment valkyrie can dodge out of shield tackle to guard break.It is actually broken because if you do not input a GB you are vulnerable to a free GB, better recovery would also allow to parry faster out of a shield tackle.
notes: even if the chances are low getting a deflect or a superior block on shield crush canceled into dodge atttack the possibilty is there.[/B]
Thanks everyone. Valk is up there among my favorite characters. There's no news to share at the moment regarding future character updates. We're just getting into Season V but if and when we have something new to share, we certainly will. We see the love around the community for Valk, so we haven't forgot about her.
I play all Vikings and I really like Valk. Now everybody kind of agrees that she is in a kind of bad spot. My suggestions are:
- LHL chain - (15, 30 and 18/22 damage for light finishers, see below)
- HH chain (30 and 35 damage); maybe speed up the heavies a little bit;
- 1st and 2md light do 15 damage, 3rd one does 18 side (with stun) or 22 top (no stun). All lights 500 ms.
- Dodgeble light after shield crush (which would be the 2nd light in the chain; shield crush can also connect a heavy for mixup purposes)
- SC shoud be 600 ms at least.
-Decrease recovery of shield crush so she cannot be punish by a GB (makes sense cause the move does not guarantee anything)
- Shield tackle guarantees a dash light + heavy (42 damage), Make the all block properties activate early when you dodge and press GB to make the move possible to use on reaction in certain circumstances).
- Make leg sweep feintable to increase the amount of pressure she can apply. Heavy after successful sweep is the heavy finisher and does 35 damage. Can be followed by a Shield crush to continue pressure.
- She can no longer be GBroken after a punish.
- 600 ms side dodge recoveries
- Superior lights should do 20 damage since they are much riskier to perform;
