Right. Against better players he was obsolete as he had limited moves and was very predictable. What is hilarious is how much they nerfed him because of all the crying. I like the character. Like the looks of him the best. But he is a joke and every other character in the game has better kit than he does and it really isn’t even close. Truthfully, as much as I like the character, they should just do away with him. It would take a pretty good buff to get him to where he isnt trash and people would be crying about it. Wall splat!!! Wehhhhh!!!!! He is OP!!!!😂😂😂😂😂🖕🏻Originally Posted by Sauronbaine Go to original post
He needs more moves into his kit, a higher Hp or higher damage numbers. I know that being cutscened sucks, but thats all he has. He needs a heavy rework. Even more so than what Highlander got.Originally Posted by Dasteel1974 Go to original post
"how much they nerfed him"
So let me get this straight:
Removed his "infinite" wall splatt combo. Definitelly a nerf, but on the other hand also removal of unintended mechanic. 100-0 shoudnt exist anyway.
Slightly reduced range on charged heavies so he doesnt slide (that) far. No more hillarious tracking slides, but mostly insignificant change.
No guaranteed jab, on simple heavy but it still lands pretty often and is slightly less punishable on miss.
Slightly less stamina drain.
Removal of stun from kick which didnt do really anything for the cent except to annoy the recieving player.
So, up untill parry changes only real nerf was removal of something that was borderline exploit, truly a hard nerf, eh?
And now after denying him gb>wallsplat/charged heavy from light parry, so he cant remove 1/2 of your HP from single parry, he is now garbage.
Its almost like if he was poorly designed from the start...
inb4 "you only mad because you get rekt by cent"
Not really. Its just that with most OG heroes (pre-rework) if you lacked safe-ish openers, you had to out-turtle him, because you coudnt risk getting parried. Not particulary hard, but incredibly boring, making the fight feel like a chore.
I, too, really like his aesthetics, but his kit was simply conceptualy flawed from the start. Imo they should just scrap it and make him whole new kit, but that will likely never happen.
I know every Cents crucify me, but its just my opinion...
Pros
- pretty good moveset compare to vanilas
- chargable heavy which u can softfeint to GB
- 1 of the best stamina drainer in game. After 1 GB, he can place 3 hilthits to drain 3/5 whole stamina bar. Or more risky place 2 hiltattacks and 1 kick to drain 4/5 stamina bar.
- Have fastest heavy on the game.
- after light can GB to drain 1/3 stamina bar
Cons
- low HP pool
- useless zone
Solutuon
- set him HP like 125 (btw Cent is hybrid of Vanguard + Assasin, Highlander have 125 HP too and he is hybrid of Vanguard + Heavy)
- lett him zone like 700ms first hit, combos hits 600 and make it cancelable after 1st hit so u can mixup zone into normal fight.
- set up his lights like plus 2-3 dmg

Bring his hp up to the lvl of a tank you almost got me when he is part assassin.. Cent certainly needs some buffs but 15 hp is not the way I'd send him. Maybe he could get deflects granting some kind of opener among other things, bringing him to a more assassin style but keeping his identity as a "melee specialist". Personnaly he is still viable at my skill level, with enough aggressivity. The only thing I hope is he won't get more ways to get his cutscene, would be lame.Originally Posted by Kahuf1 Go to original post
Centurion s kit was fundamentally flawed from the start. Built around draining opponent stamina and ultra heavy punishes.
Centurion was supposed to end the defence meta back in season 2 by having constant pressure on the opponent. One mistake and it was gg. Not exactly what the community wanted.
If you feel limited with centurion try playing some orochi or some valk for a start. That's what limited is about.
Pretty ironic he ended up being the ultimate turtle.Originally Posted by guor6800 Go to original post
