    S5 Highlander feedback

I just wanna say that I'm happy with all the damage buffs and improvements on the caber toss tracking, not to mention the new ability to feint celtic curse. It made him much more enjoyable to play in team fights and improved a lot his performance as a duelist (my favourite mode btw).

Now it finally feels he can be threatening and dangerous like he should have always been. Thank you.

Now there are 3 things that I still think he's lacking and would make him even better:

1 - the ability to cancel Balors Might with a forward dodge (in order to initiate Celtic Curse). The reason for that is the whole mixup can be safely avoide by rolling away. This would help HL to catch these attempts ( like Kensei can now).

2 - His lights should not be interrupted by blocking. His lights are a free parry (and it will get much worse with lag comp). At least this would help him to initiate agression and put more pression on close range (situation where now he is defenceless) by fast flowing into OS. It also makes sense because of the size and weight of his weapon.

3 - Please (PLEASE) increase his sprint speed. It's too boring being so slow. You can't even catch people running with tributes. Put him at least at the same speed of the heavily armored Lawbringer.

Hope that this makes sense. Thanks.

I also dig the current changes. Highlander is a lot of fun right now and more efficient and effective at what he does. Good changes all across the board.

However I also agree that there are still areas that are in need to be looked at.

I would disagree with number 1. It is ok for me if people roll out. You can still roll catch other highlanders and hence probably other heavy classes or those with a similar backroll distance with a top balor's might from top . I also have usually time to go other rolling opponents with a celtic curse while they are still recovering and maybe barely defend themselves.

I don't really have an opinion towards number 2 other than mentioning that lights being uninterupted by blocking would help at all if opponents already have it down to parry them. Second light has now hyper armor which is really great in certain trade scenarios. If you don't want to get parried maybe try whiffing by backstepping,

I entirely agree with number 3. His sprinting speed should receive a buff. Also a different sprinting animation would be nice but since you haven't done for the start of seaon 5 I guess that is not on the table at this moment in time.

A further suggestion for 4v4 modes is to speed up celtic curse after connecting. It takes too long to throw down an opponent and finally unleash balor's might upon him. So much time that once you make that mistake to use it in a 1v2-4 scenario you will eat so many hits that you will be dead often before your blade can actually hit the opponent on the ground (with revenge shield that is).

I personally don't think that roll away should be a viable option. An example: one of these days I fought a Centurion that was rolling away every time I entered OS. It was really annoying since Highlander depends on his OS to fight and the opponent was resetting the fight all the time. There was nothing I could do about it. One of the most boring fights ever.Adding a dodge cancel into Celtic Curse would be great to his kit and would prevent this anti combat behaviour.

About light chains not being interrupted by blocking: I know it doesn't change much but would be welcome to his kit. When the opponent sit on HL's face he needs a quick way to enter OS. Throwing a light is very risky so it should pay off.

Again: he needs his sprint speed to be buffed

Backstepping your light slightly is a good way to bait parries (where you use a top heavy or a forward stepping second light to trade with hyper armor or interrupt their parry attempt) or to force them to engage you closer since you moved a decent little distance away.

Sprint speed needs to be on par with Lawbringer, as do all other hybrids who are currently slower for no reason.

In your specific scenario with someone rolling away any time you enter OS, there's actually an extremely simple and easy method of punishing that. Bait the roll by entering OS and immediately cancelling back into DS, dodging forward to initiate a celtic curse. Unless you're fighting a PK or something else with extremely long roll distances, you're guaranteed to hit them through their roll before they can block (sometimes long rollers can escape because of how the tracking system works for catching dodges and rolls).

This only works when the opponent reacts before the balors might/kick/caber animation, which unfortunately means that good players won't fall for it.

Good players also don't try to roll away because they aren't terrified of offensive stance like everyone else. You get used to it.

The smart players realize how dangerous it is to run out of stamina against a highlander now that his mixups are more dangerous. Most will run the risk of getting hit in order to keep their stamina at a higher level where they can actually defend themselves.
