    Let's talk about the Raider

Ever since the patch 5 came into the stage Raider has been dying slowly. Raider cannot punish with heavies anymore if you parry light attacks or heavy attacks ( with heavies he couldn't punish anyway ) which was his bread and butter before. Raider can heavy punish off of parry only some assassin classes if you parry a light side attack. Meaning all the other classes gets no punish from raider except a chipping light attack, since your GB isn't guaranteed after parry anymore. Raider used to be balanced and fun to play before, now I just want to quit the game. Sure you can chip your enemy down with light attacks, but when they parry it,your gonna soak their heavy,no matter where they hit you. Raider tool set is kind of limited anyway when it comes to guaranteed hits and now he only has one which is Throw / stampede into zone attack. I know people will come to this thread and say its totally fine and good we got rid of turtling Raiders, but you gotta uderstand that its almost unplayable. Raider was Wardens greastest counter before patch and now ? warden can fist your a** without even concerning about your parry-heavy punishes. PLEASE MAKE RAIDER GREAT AGAIN!

I'm glad that this game is evolving and moving on,but these kind of threads will appear when you make changes to the game without taking every aspect into the changes.

    Thank you.

From Season 1-3 I mained Berserker, then Highlander before going back to 'Zerker for 4 and 5, though I've not started getting into Raider as well, and he feels... Lackluster and broken compared to the only other 2 heroes I've really played.
Everything revolves around feinting into that top light stun, and then poking with lights. It's either top light, or his throw. There's like 2 aspects to him one can play and hope to win, and both are slow and easy to counter.

He feels crippled compared to the other heroes, there's so little to do with his moveset at mid-high tiers of gameplay, because everything can be countered. If you try to turtle, you're still at a disadvantage because you don't have any good punishes.

I feel like I just want more combos, or make his light combo Superior Lights so he can at least get 2 hits in. I'm not looking for more Unblockables or 400ms lights, just more variations with that awesome axe of his.

Raider can punish with a side heavy after parry a light attack, i dont know why you cant do it for my case i can do it every times when i see a spark after parry a light.

Just forget your old strategy: parry, GB and so on...

Raider now relies on mix up light, heavy with pompey strike. Now you can use your heavy fairly safe, only eating a light if you are parried.

The problem with Raider right now is when dealing with some classes like warden and law bringer after a heavy parry they can lead you into a mix up of shouder bash or a shove after block a heavy

I don't think Raider is weak, though I never played him like a turtle waiting for a parry, but I played him offensively. I'm really happy that I now can risk mixing in a random surprise heavy and not get demolished by a parry.

    thank you !
that what was i was talking about !
raider is soo trash now soooo ****ing weak
all characters got new moves safe and good unblockables or more damage attacks
they weren't affected after the no gb after parry because they still have lot of options to do !
conq gives free unblockable after parry which is bull **** if u ask me who needs gb and faster light attacks and kensi got unblockable and sb let along berserker too
they don't need the gb after the parry as much as the raider

raider has nothing literally nothing .. you need to only parry lights to have a confirmed one heavy only and maybe get more if you succeeded with a light afterwards or a light tap which can also be easily parried!

all of his attacks can be interrupted with a single poke of a light so trading is not possible and his attacks is slow to connect and the easiest to parry
his zones takes 50% almost of his stamina twice is maximum to do and if you got parried your oos
when warden can spam trash SB 4-5 TIMES IN ROW and still recovers before you if you were out of stamina too ! i got a video if u want to : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDl9MUBr_b8

its really painful for a raider main to play the game now
i only play the raider and the game is truly unplayable in 1 vs 1 and i totally feel your pain bro

Yep any desire to play the game is all gone, I have disagreed with many of the balancing changes made over the past year, but I’ve been able to get past them, the removal of gb on parry though, I think that may have hit the last straw.

I play raider quite a bit and this change is just an insult that made his already limited kit less viable. It’s not just raider for me, even top tier heroes that weren’t hit that hard by the parry changes are less fun to play imo, I don’t even remember what the pk stabs look like, matches can go by without using it…

This is why I usually stick to single player games, one day you’re having fun, then next u just have some piece of software that’s useless to you, since its mp there’s no modding or going back to a previous patch with backed up files, full game + season pass is now just wasted money.

It feels good when people are on the same page. Raider needs change to his kit,or maybe not change but more tools to work around with. If your opponent desides that he wants to turtle, you have really limited options how to open him up. Heavy soft feint into Stunning Tap is NOT safe to use because if you they parry it,they will get a free side heavy on you. I totally can work around that nowadays you cannot get a confirmed GB after Parry and I think it's good for the game. Raider really doesn't need that tactic to be succesful. The only thing that is really weak in him is his kit. Lights get parried and you get f***ed,heavies are so slow that you cannot trade against most heroes and again stunning tap is easy to parry and really punishable. Of course as Tyrjo stated, you can now get into mixes without getting totally demolished after a heavy,it is still hard to start the mix going, because of the limited kit.

Wardensc2 said that why i can't get a punish from parrying side light. Yea,we get a free punish from that and can get into mixes, but who is so stupid that after parrying couple of his sidelights,he is still gonna go for them ? most of the players start to abuse the fact that they can top light and if you parry it,you can only get a light attack in.

I personally have found out that mixing around Raiders fury is the best option for now, even tho people start complaining that you are a filthy spammer. Raiders fury is safeish option and can be feinted or cancelled into pretty much anything. But the Stamina cost is huge when compared to any other heroes or the fact that how much damage you can make out of feinting raiders fury.

One thing I complain about Raider right now is his dodge is too slow. Maybe he is affected not only 100ms delay when changing guard and slow changing guard speed which belong to him before new patch. When play with Gladiator abusing toe stab, I can't dodge but with Conqueror I can dodge with ease

    Dodge GB

So many people seem to forget that Raider has a dodge GB. The only time people have really used this in the past is to get out of the Warden's vortex. Now it has a practical use because of Raider's garbage parry punish. You can dodge a light attack and instantly GB someone even before they can throw a second light. This GB now sets you up for big stamina drain or a top heavy off a wall splat, which is better damage than a light parry. Raider is still very strong, you just have to use his special punishes.

what you talk about works very limited maybe LB top light but most light you cant dodge them and GB its really not a good option
