    Conq Mains Fill Me In!

So conq mains or people who play conq often, how are these changes? Ive recently started playing him since the changes but he doesnt seem like amazing or anything he feels like what he should have been from the start. I got 1 rep on him before changes and he definitely feels more viable and has some mix up potential. Hes kinda the middle ground, with kensei getting all the love in the world, and beserker being kinda just "tweaked" and not reworked in my opinion conq is sitting somewhere in the middle. So how are the changes? They are definitely an improvement from what you had, but how does it stack up to the complete overhaul kensei got? How has this changed the way you play if at all? What should i be doing now that i didnt before with him?

Not a conq Main but Been playing him abit and Reading on competive reddit and watch some top tier players use him.
Shieldbash is much faster now, you can dodge forward and bash and mix it up with dodge forward and guardbreak if they try to dodge the bash on prediction.
You should try maintain Striking distance so they cant guardbreak you and use fullblock alot from Striking distance. If you block an attack from fullblock you have guarentueed flail uppercut that does 30 Damage. Light attacks are faster and do More damage, 500 MS toplight and 600 from the side. You also stunlpck if the first light hit so its basicly impossible to parry 2nd light in the chain if first hit connects. Zone attack is also much better and can be used from fullblock. charged unblockable heavy is quits useful in 4vs 4 but not in 1 vs1. Conq is overall stronger now then kensai and berserker. His hardest matchups are probably pk and shaman.

I’ve only played 4 matches with him, and practiced for a while, but people currently don’t know how to react to him. My current opinion can’t be my definitive one without people getting used to the new changes first.

That being said, my current opinion is that he’s a monster. I’ve died once with him in all 4 matches. His EVERYTHING into shield bash is unreal. His soft-feint into unblockable has (so far) been 100% successful for me.

    Stand by for further assessment.

As someone who plays against and as him I believe the shield bash start up is way to fast especially against other heavies. Now works as a better and stronger warlord headbutt for a lot more gain and less punishable. LB for instance has no response other than to hit light attack randomly and hope you connect before the bash does. Overall great re-work but they overdid it a little

I've fought conqs and they just made a tortoise out of him, not turtle but a tortoise. They wait for block then counter, block counter block counter. Then his light chain is super fast.

Yeah it's who I struggle against as well. PK and Shaman. PK would lose in 60FPS though.

Also believe it or not David but Conq can actually lose to Highlander. Highlander actually has the tools to do it.

Retreating Highlander light>>>>Conq shield bash and parry.

If Conq has highlander in shield bash light loop, he can actually retreat light after shield bash to punish Conq on next attempt and create distance to immediately flow into offensive stance...

I actually have no problems beating Conq mains with Highlander. Using Unblockable in neutral vs him is actually REALLY good. Mix it up with unblockable into kick and unblockables for spacing in general can beat him. If you are running out of stamina then just maintaining space with retreating light since his lights in general don't cost much stamina.. You can also Change directions with raw unblockable as you would his light to avoid being parried... Also HIghlander recovers EXTREMELY fast whiffing unblockables, you actually have time to whiff to bait parry from conq and have enough time to side step punish with kick before conq can recover.

The match up isn't bad. Possible 50/50
