Riptide Strike Changes
Deflect Changes
If a character, literally anybody, could be lawbringer or conq, or pk even etc, is blocking the top when the storm rush hits, you can not get the two "guaranteed" lights. If you notice them blockin the top when you land a storm rush then either just go for a GB or zone.Originally Posted by Red_R0nin Go to original post
the main issue with Orochi and the only reason nobody playing him is that he has no way to break a passive player. If a player choose to turtle, Orochi has no attacks to break this which is basically a design flaw. It might be ok against new players but nobody will choose him for high level play.
He desperately need an offensive unblockable otherwise he will continue to be in the bottom tier, the hero that no one will play. Every hero should have an offensive unblockable imo..given how easy it is to turtle in this game, it makes perfect sense.
My2Cents: Adding more and more unblockables to the game isn't the answer for everything - also it's makes 4v4s worse. (also this won't fix orochi at all, there is more to fix than that)
Question: Why are unblockables not deflectable? In FH blocking means to absorb a hit. Parry means to absorb+reverse the hit. Deflect means redirecting a hit into another direction (no absorb) / slipping through the attack attempt.
Keeping this in mind deflects are something between a block and a parry (definitely not a block), so it should be possible to deflect unblockables. Also deflects are the worst mechanic in FH right now, so it should be buffed in some way. That also means that parrying an attack needs to take at least a bit stamina for the one who is parrying and/or stops the stamina reg. for a short time.
Riptide needs its recovery frames less punishing. Its far too punishing. Should be no longer than a regular heavy. All the hype armor attacks other Heros have now has made the Riptide antiquated. Like Deflects, it's just stylish for a KO.
Either bring its recovery frames down to a more usable level so we can defend against foes with hyper armor combo strings (HL, Zerk, WL), and/or make riptide attack work like Gladiator poke where it is techically a 'GB' (so it could interrupt some hyper armor attacks assuming timing is just right).
I'm fine with Riptide's Initial frames being punishable and risky, and not being able to feint. But there's also risk at the tail-end of Riptide even when its used as a counter correctly (depends on the matchup), and that I would like fixed.
You got a point on the unblockable but then every other heroes has one so why not Orochi too? If they're not willing to fix anything else, at least give him an Unblockable attack in the mean time.Originally Posted by E1seNw0Lf Go to original post
Deflect IS the worst mechanic in the game right now at least it its current state. Its very punishing if you fail and to deflect someone, your opponent has to attack you. What if you face a passive player, how are you going to deflect? In a sense, your next move is very dependent on your opponent playstyle which is another design flaw with deflect.
I agree with this completely. Unblockables should be deflectable just as they are parryable.Originally Posted by E1seNw0Lf Go to original post
Otherwise they are not just "unblockables", they are "unblockable/undeflectables".
Deflecting is even harder than parrying, there's no reason you shoudn't be able to deflect any attack that is parryable.
If you think about it, unblockables are just really strong attacks and deflecting (as you said) redirects attacks. So the same reason you can't block it is the same reason you wouldn't be able to deflect it, it's too strong and is being charged up and forced through a certain path.Originally Posted by E1seNw0Lf Go to original post
