Conq bash is now very strong with the variable timing to initiate it within the dodge. It's strong like it should be I guess although I'm not sure if bash spammers are really healthy for the game. I think that maybe it shouldn't do any stamina damage, since it already guarantees a light. It makes fight Conqs really frustrating since the bash is already very hard to react to.
I see lots of complaints about con's new offense making him actually viable. Here are some nerfs he also got.
1. No auto superior guard- good ✅ it was obviously dumb tbh
2. 100 ms delay on deflects- mixed ❓ it's nice to limit his previously extraordinary defense but with all the other changes now his deflect is only useful for nonunblockable, telegraphed heavies.
3. Crushing shield charge no longer confirms a heavy- bad ❌ this move was already super telegraphed and slow with absolute trash tracking but now it only occasionally guarantees a light or sb into a light. Its only use is cheeky ledges or ganking in 4v4 and the 50/50 mix up that will always be a gb because that gets a heavy. Ubi needs to give back heavy on this.
4. Heavy sb no longer gets a heavy- mixed ❓ it is easy af to dodge and doesn't give any hyper armor so getting attacked out of it happens frequently. Its only uses are from a heavy feint mid combo to catch non attacking side dodges, and to wall splat them since the normal sb can't wall splat. It certainly doesn't need to get a heavy imo, it's just a very niche move.
5. Full block stance 300 ms delay- mixed ❓ after losing his superior block this should have become his next go to strong defender move. However his ultra safe-if extremely easy to parry- zone takes that spot. Full block can't be used on reaction besides the slowest of attacks or prediction and baiting. Honestly this is good as standard blocks and parries should still have a purpose. Its the next nerf that makes this one questionable.
6. Full block stance can no longer sb or dodge out- bad ❌ With all the other tankiness nerfs he got he really didn't need to become a sitting duck if he full blocks too early. Now all he can do is zone out when baiting a gb. Being able to dodge unblockable or sb to surprise the enemy again would be fantastic and more balanced. I do understand wanting to avoid full block spam but he needs this to be as appealing to sb spam especially without his old superior block. The stamina cost, 20 damn stamina, just to enter fbs is plenty big penalty on top of no cbg even if he could dodge out. Either give more options here or lower the 20 stam cost some. With the 300 ms delay some improvement isn't ridiculous.
7. He can no longer feint lights- good ✅ This was never supposed to be in his kit.
8. His sb stamina damage was reduced to 10- good ✅ Taking health and stamina damage is something I never liked. It can be broken at times and is my only real issue with the current centurian.
Other weaknesses
His attacks actually have bad range and it isn't uncommon for "guaranteed" lights to completely miss.
All of his attacks are quite easy to parry or dodge unless you let him get the offensive and simply don't know the timings.
He is sloooooow and can overwhelmed or outranged if you stay aggressive and smart.
Summary of my opinion
Don't get salty but he actually needs to have his range and/or recovery touched so his "guaranteed" attacks actually land. He also needs heavy on crushing shield charge back as that running move already sucked- not to mention how slow he is making it hard to catch people anyway. He could really use less stamina cost to go into full block stance-try 10 or even 15 instead of 20. Besides that I'd love more options during full block stanc, no delay on side deflects, and hell even hyper armor heavy shield bash-lol but none of those are really needed or even balanced.
