Can't really do that stuff reliably on consoleOriginally Posted by SkateBross Go to original post
It's a thing you can never do relieably, this doesn't depend on the platfrom you are playing.Originally Posted by XJadeDragoonX Go to original post
I do it since ever on consol - the real problem here is.
1. You need to read the opponent right. (it works good against normal persons)
2. As soon you fight more skilled people and they can read you, they just feint it and get you GBed in the dodge. (that's what i am doing and good players against me)
3. It's more a lag thing - if the connection suxx then it is not really possible.
4. Hard practice - i don't say it is a easy to learn skill, it is i would say the hardest one to use.
Dodge cancel of the attacks has such a tiny window, and now, that you can use it only on neutral heavies it is even harder to use.
That proves my point. You're only really gonna catch deflect on inexperienced players. I catch people sometimes but ever since season 5 started, I feel like the deflect window got tighter. It's not worth risking against heavies because of feint guard break. Only predictable lights like the warden or orochi top lightOriginally Posted by S0Mi_xD Go to original post
or any light dash attack. But at that point, you can just parry and end up with the same result. Unless youre near a wall.
But typically it's better to do side heavy anyway in my opinion. You lose out on 5 damage vs the top heavy but you can go right into your combo and if you get a heavy into a feint and a light, you already net yourself more damage than overhead heavy anyway.
