It's easy, folks.
Massive/Red Storm could completely balance the game and make high-ends/exotics relevant again with one QUICK and EASY fix.
Here it is -
Make Classified Gear five pieces and completely lose the sixth piece.
It's the sixth piece that completely unbalances the game and ruins both pve & pvp. Look at the sixth piece on each set:
1. Sentry's Call - simultaneously too strong against heavies/bosses and utterly useless against lower level npcs; also, no six piece for pvp.
2. Nomad - Nomad's Luck is the thing that makes this gear set far too strong in pvp and renders pve too easy.
3. Predator - do I even need to spell this one out?
4. Striker - it's far, far too easy to reach 100 stacks with the sixth piece and the healing bonus related to stamina makes this set unbeatable.
5. Firecrest/Tactician/Deadeye - nobody who uses these sets actually uses the sixth piece right now.
6. Reclaimer - this set is making all content too easy and has completely wrecked the challenge element of pve.
7. Hunter's Faith - not game-breaking this one, but losing your stacks with one shot is the ultimate high-risk = high reward. 6th piece is not required.
8. Final Measure - massive DPS/Armor/Skill bonuses for thre entire group for standing in a red circle every few seconds???
9. D3 - just to make the sixth piece work, Massive had to nerf shields for every other build. Also, huge bonuses for the group for being shot???
10. Lone Star - silly RNG bonus that is great when it works but cannot be relied upon.
11. Alphabridge - extremely silly sixth talent that fundamentally contradicts the whole point of the gear set in the first place.
Have I missed any out?
I know Massive and a large section of the community won't admit to the sixth-piece talent wrecking pve and pvp content. But what defence is there to be made for any of the talents?
I would personally lose the sixth gear set piece, reduce stamina from 30:1 to 20:1, reduce crit chance to a 40% max, reduce bodyshot damage and increase headshot damage.

The current meta wouldn't change too much, ironically enough. But the gulf between Striker and the other gear sets wouldn't be as immense as it is right now.
With Classified Gear, this game is FAR TOO EASY. You don't need to worry about aim, you don't need to worry about cover, you don't need to worry about situational awareness.

49% range grip have to go cause totally change guns role, smgs and shotguns with AR range...
HE pieces buffed to classified level
low rate of fire guns buffed cause they are trash,
this just to contain the mess, devs too stubborn to listen to more complicated suggestions
Didn't think I'd agree with you... but I can't actually argue against it having read your post.
With Firecrest and Tactician I read the 6p bonus and then was like I'll just blend the two instead so I wouldn't miss 6p.
I do think Striker's is sort of good but it needs a bit more work.
The only one I'd probably argue against the removal of is reclaimer as I think support stuff is a bit under-effective generally especially how the game is now so I'm on the fence on that one - sure it makes some of the easier content even easier but means you can push the boat out and take on more odds, etc.
I would except that about reclaimer. All other 6th pieces can go. Any atempt by developers to balence gearsers would probably go wrong given their previous history of fffing things up so i see this as the most viable option and probably the easiest for the developers.Originally Posted by Rroff Go to original post

It's in the same place that Smart Cover was in during 1.3: it has become an essential in order to complete any content. Groups without a classy Reclaimer don't last very long.
I like damage leaching heals but most of the implementations of it like the Self-preserved talent and Caduceus bonus are ridiculously underwhelming - I don't think its a bad idea (compared to some of the other 6p bonuses which make you wonder if the developer was high/drunk when they came up with them like the tactician bonus for instance) but it needs more work.Originally Posted by Pig_Bodine Go to original post
I dunno what level wave you are talking about but my regular hybrid tact/firecrest box can keep people alive (as long as they have a half decent loadout/optimisation) while focusing on the regular mobs on the boss waves upto at least 20 - at higher waves even the reclaimer runs into its limits. If you don't have a classified reclaimer you can unlock a support station in resistance and work around that - IIRC its far more powerful than the classified reclaimer once upgraded and you can use a regular box for revives.
