I wonder what a 2-D side scrolling FC game might look like? haha, maybe some bayou billy type game, anyone remember that classic? It had melee, light gun & driving sequences. Would actually be pretty cool if they did a full AAA reboot of that game... haha

If it'll offer something tied in with the Far Cry series, perhaps it will be Trials of the Blood Dragon?

Other than that game, I don't know of any other "old" franchise they could include there. It'll probably be something new, unless it bypasses Far Cry completely, like Rayman Gold or something?

Imagine you could access single player created custom maps in arcade mode through that arcade machine this would give many more players access to sp custom maps.

While it'd mean more exposure to user created maps (AWESOME!), I feel it doesn't really add up. The cabinets show a 2D side-scroller in pixel sprites. And it's common for games to include references to older games as easter eggs. Like Doom and Wolfenstein did.

That is just a symbol to reference the "arcade" but the gameplay is definitely something tied to the vanilla since it includes some perks you acquire.

Yep, it seems it is an online feature. User created maps?

Hmmm looks like you're right that Far Cry 5 Community Maps will be accessible from the Arcade. According to GameStar (German):

    (translated
Far Cry Arcade - This is how the new platform for user content in Far Cry 5 works
In the newly introduced "Far Cry Arcade" editors, singleplayer and multiplayer fans should be equally happy. In addition to classic PVP multiplayer modes, the community will also be able to create their own levels for single players with content from many popular Ubisoft series.

Separately available from the main menu of Far Cry 5 , the Arcade mode, designed to reminisce with pretty pixel graphics and animations of the 80s gambling halls, serves as a platform for all user-generated content and will be of interest to both single-player and multiplayer fans , The editor it contains allows the community to design their own levels and maps completely detached from the main game, and to distribute them to the players worldwide via the Ubisoft servers.
The article claims that Map editors can also "write small AI routines". Would this mean actual scripting, or just the Animation Points we all know?

    And... last but not least:
The developers also announce that the editor will have content of Far Cry games (from Far Cry 4+) and even models from Assassin's Creed and Watch Dogs available in the editor.
Seeing Far Cry 3 Classic Edition isn't remastered, I doubt that the editor contains many Far Cry 3 models. Even when Far Cry 4 had some, they suffered from pretty bad draw distance. Still, it'll be cool to have more assets from the previous games (Far Cry 4, Primal) in the editor.

Huh, so it sounds like FC Arcade is like an umbrella title for the whole MP/ME modes then huh? And it seems there are ways to access that from within the SP campaign at arcade cabinets & posters? Pretty cool, that'll certainly help get it some exposure. The whole MP / ME component in FC4 was actually sort of hard to see in the main menu, so I think integrating access into the campaign can only be a boon for it's success...

    edit:
Not that I've any clue what it says, but I found this posted on reddit. Apparently FCArcade is the whole MP/ME package from the looks of it. MP info clearly imminent from all these leaks springing up.

edit 2: Someone on reddit translated the article here.
