Campaign mode, Arcade mode and DLC

    Hello,
I've been watching the recent Livestream in which you can notice the following modes :

We don't have any information regarding arcade mode, which makes think about the DLCs.
The way I see it DLC is related directly to arcade mode, which is either a horde mode exactly like the fighting arena in FC4, or something like Shangi-La in FC4.

Until we have more information regarding DLC and arcade mode, I don't think the DLC will have any story/open world content like Blood Dragon.

I dunno, that makes it seem as though the DLC is already heavily integrated into the game when really all it seems like they have is the premises and some promo art for their DLC plans. Arcade being something mentioned in the perk screens with some perks being available in both modes makes it seem like Arcade is something more directly tied to your progression in the campaign. Skills you unlock one mode being available in the other as well, maybe there is a horde mode or something. Who knows, maybe they have already laid that much of the ground work for the DLCs but I sort of don't think they're that far along with it that it would have been so ingrained in the menus already, access & compatibility with the DLC usually is added via patches before the DLC comes out or with the DLC itself in most cases...

I was thinking about it and maybe the arcade mode refers to the free roam aspect of the game without it ever running out of enemies. Sort of how it worked in Far Cry 2. Cool!

A dog that functions as a ground based targeting drone, glowing fruit salad all over your display (hovering miraculously in mid air), being able to see enemies through walls, Ubi shotguns whose pellets go sideways upon muzzle exit, absolutely NO intervention by county or state authorities in an ongoing multi homicide crime spree (the cult), or the war between you and the cult, "perks and XP", being able to talk/commune with cougars and bears (besides the drone dog), local "goofs" with flame throwers, anti armor weapons, machine gun/bomb armed aircraft, crop circles, aliens, and homicidal turkeys.

Easy to see where they'd want to add an arcade mode to take the edge off the relentlessly realistic aspects of the game.

In that last live stream Assoc. Producer Phillipe Fournier said something that sounded like that is the case in the regular game when asked if enemies would attack outposts. He said while they won't attack outposts (which is lame) that they'll still populate the world, so it sounds like taking an outpost doesn't de-populate areas like it used to...

I hope the Multiplayer includes the planes and Helicopters.

    >Until we have more information regarding DLC and arcade mode, I don't think the DLC will have any story/open world content like Blood Dragon.

This is what I suspect as well.

There have also been some shots that showed a "Far Cry Arcade" poster / sign. I fully expect that given the widely different themes of the DLC and the fact that Ubi won't confirm anything about it that it's just some kind of wave or defense mode.

    >fighting arena in FC4

Possibly but more likely a defense mode like the outpost defense in Valley of the Yeti or Call of Duty Zombies where you can purchase weapon and/or defense upgrades. Of course it's all continued speculation. :-/

    >I dunno, that makes it seem as though the DLC is already heavily integrated into the game

Not really. It could easily be an existing mode with 1 or more bits of content already in it at launch (i.e. "Kill the cultists"). My bet is that if so the arcade has one or more throwbacks to previous FC entries (Safari Hunt, Pirate Bay, Caveman Crush, Yeti Fight, etc.). Blood Dragon being the most likely since it ties in with arcades well. Porting a few model assets for these kinds of things would likely be easy for them. The DLC simply would add new "machines" (world levels) with additional content that is in development after release.

I really hate this concept though so I'm happy to be wrong.

There is an arcade machine in the first bar. I'm wondering if it is a bit like Wolfenstein 2 where you can walk up to the arcade machine to "start Arcade Mode", which would in turn pause the real-time open world game? Failing that, perhaps after you use the arcade machine for the first time, it then appears as an option in the main menu or pause menu?

I've seen getting close to it and no button prompt was appearing. But that was just a demo so.. who knows.
Still, it can't be the same arcade mentioned in the skill tree; i really can't see the connection between takedowns and a vintage coin-op.

There is a JukeBox in that very same room, when you walk up to it you can change the songs from a selection, it works really well - This was going back to June, after the E3 Demo finished with Falls End liberated you go to the Spread Eagle Bar, back then there was no Arcade Cabinet or if there was I didn't notice it - something like that I would have tried to see if I could play any games.
