Yeah, you mean a regular mil raid with specific orders/tactics to follow. Ghosts have just objectives, they adapt and use their own tactics, not textbook ones. And those ghosts you're showing are from way back when. Since then tactics have changed. Modern warfare against very covert terrorist types often involves very different clothing. You mean you've never heard of the guys that grow long beards and wear the common clothing of the country they're in to stay covert when getting critical intel on most wanted terrorists? They also have much more advanced gear now, so they can survey the area and know just what they're walking into. More recent GRs had that too, but they did not do as good a job at covert attire options. All these old ghosts are good for is standard mil raids.
What I'm saying is GR has adapted to the times and gone above and beyond typical mil tactics, yet so many still crave for standard milsim attire, much of which is not practical for ghosts, not today's ghosts anyway.
Dude...stop.
You've got your information mixed and you're just arguing for argument's sake.
Yes, SOF units sometimes wear non-combat clothing to blend in with an urban environment and there are indeed situations on record where they've had to go local, operate in local garb to snatch people or do a target recce....but do NOT confuse them as this uber stealthy undercover operators.
Going in "low profile" or in disguise is usually the infiltration part of a Direct Action op or a precursor to one...it is doesn't mean that the Ghosts or the real life units they are based on operate months on end, undercover as spies...the cases where it has happened is the exception and not the norm.
Furthermore, the "Blending in" aspect is not universal since typical American operators stand out in many cultures and in this instance...the Ghost team does stand out as Americans/Foreigners. Here the "blending in" isn't about being mistaken for a local but to be identified as an 'Unkown' or 'Non-threatening' entity
The reason why the Ghosts are not in standard BDUs is to being identified as an American Military Unit. That's it. The Ghosts are not long-term spies and do not have the training to operate undercover for long periods at a time in a hostile. alien country.
They have to blend in enough to be able to drive around Bolivia in a beat-up Sedan without arousing suspicion. Any unit like the Ghost would most certainly revert to BDUs, Plate carrier and helmets when they actually have to go on a Raid.
So you're partially correct - civil clothing when driving around, reconnoitering areas...and when you need to start executing the mission...it's time to switch to more suitable clothing. Flannel isn't bullet proof.
The game itself doesn't support the whole "Uber undercover operator" premise by virtue of the plot as well as the gameplay....so requests for more traditional military garb is entirely justified and reasonable.
