This is absolutely absurd! That’s about 1/10 of how soon a real bullet should start dropping, I understand that each gun have their ideal engagement distances but seeing sniper shots fall flat onto the grounr after 40 metres is absolutely ridiculous. Oh also the TAC-50 HUD icon is the icon of the HT1 and the customization model for the PDW shows the MDR instead, one of the drum mag seems to be bugged and shows up as a 20 round mag as well.
I know the explanation has been given multiple times but I sure as hell do not understand it.
I may not have played enough in other open world games but none of the other games I have played have the bullet drop as ridiculous as this game has it.
Another pet peeve of mine for this game... perhaps even more or at least equal to the blob squad AI
I completely agree with Ptarmigann.
One thing I would really want the developers to add in any future open world Ghost Recon games are adjustable scopes - that way the insane bullet drop wouldn't matter so much and it would remove the guesswork that is currently required. I don't mind if they are dumbed down a bit, but scope adjustments factoring in the range and elevation should be pretty easy to add in. Factoring in windage and heat would be far harder to do so I wouldn't expect that.
That way we're not firing blindly, hoping that our long range shot hits the target somewhere between the head and feet. On the harder dificulties one missed shot is all it takes for them to come a runing (or flying) to your position.
I think the muzzle velocity is around about a half real life; there or thereabouts. The physics, aside from the lower speed, then seem pretty accurate with bullets hitting the ground at the right time for real world gravity. I tested that in the beta across the lake in Montuyuc.
I think Kean is correct that the draw distance is the reason the effect is as exaggerated as it is. I'd prefer if the effect was reduced, the muzzle velocity increased, but I think the Dev team are content with where it is.
The problem is with a decent zero most of the guns could hit the draw distance limitation with only an inch or two hold over.
With a 25yd zero you can hit almost 500m with only a foot of hold over on a 5.56mm.
I don't get why we have fixed scopes at what looks like 100y zero and no way to adjust it in the game.
Agreed. I would also prefer if the effect wasn't as severe as it is in this game but I adjusted pretty quickly like most.Originally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post
just improvise adapt and overcome!! on the 50cal HTI with the T5xi scope, the center is good for 300m (~1000ft), first hash ~450m, 2nd hash ~550/600m just mess with it n get good.. by the time youve thrown 1k kills downrange you'll get used to it lol
edit: with the 308cal m40 and the 338 msr... drops are more pronounced
Yeah, when I forget it just takes a few shots from various distances against a mountainside to check.Originally Posted by CarolinaFrog Go to original post
I am used to just playing and not having to learn or know all of the tecno mumbo jumbo. I can see where the consoles are restricted to a certain draw distance but why is the PC also limited to same draw distance? Why do both platforms have to suffer?
Bottom line, I don't care how it should be or what could have been... the Devs should of not puckked with what works. Unless of course the other games also suffer from same fate on consoles because again, I don't remember the bullet drop sucking so much in any of the other games I have played. Hell, I don't remember that happening in Far Cry or even GRAW II and the world was smaller, graphic cards were not as good as today's cards are so I'm still stumped.
