It could be because of the lack of players on PC, premade groups aren't always better either, they just tend to be gank squads more often than not. Depending on which map you're playing that can be a disadvantage in Dominion.
Sadly on the smaller maps, gank squads rule the day because they can get from point to point so quickly. Hopefully with new dom maps they increase the distance between zones so defending and boosting zones is needed to consistently win matches. I believe that will solve some of the ganking problem.
