    What is this number?

Been a long time since I played, but I'm back!

Now... what is this number above my name in the interface, with a symbol like the Pentagon, and why do I have 975 of it?

Scoring for commendations IIRC. Each objective progresses in something like 10 point increments, 50 or 60 points when you finish the line and unlock a new patch or something.

Sort of like the grimoire scoring in Destiny... just a quick metric to tell if someone is focusing on the trophy/collectible aspects of the game.

    That's your commendation score.

Patch 1.8 introduced Commendations, or in-game achievements. They ask you to complete certain tasks (Kill X amount of Cleaners. Close X amount of car doors, for example) and upon completion, you will receive some points towards your overall score.. Rewards for commendations are

    Masks
    Patches
    Cypher Key Fragments

While you're in game, open your menu and then go to the dossier (top left). There, you will find the commendations.

LOL, is THAT what that +10/+10/+10 in each commendation was? I seriously thought and hoped it was +10 Cypher frags, but saw pretty quick it wasnt, but still didnt know what the numbers were for.

    That answers alot actually.
