If you are one of those PvP players who can instantly melt any opponent in a shot or two, I am seriously curious what your stats are, what gun you use, etc. When you are in the shooting range what kind of damage stats do you see (per shot)?
I am really curious what it takes to have this kind of firepower and what I am doing wrong. Every time I come across these guys and they down me (from full health + Nomad regen) with only 2 or 3 shots they insist they are legit and get pissed if you even suggest they are cheaters.
Example: I have a build with 7,200 firearms, CHC of 45% and CHD of 105%, plus additional crit from my pulse, and I can't down anything (outside of a "red" NPC) with only a couple of shots. I have killed my share of rogues (three just tonight), but it takes a lot of strategic moving around, tossing grenades, etc. while I pour several clips of ammo into them.
So I am not looking for the lame-os with the "git gud" replies, I just really want to know that if the above is the best I can get my guy to (without a Classified set) in two years, what am I doing so wrong with my setup and what do I need to do to have the kind of damage that I can down a player from full health faster than the time it takes to turn their character 180 degrees toward me.
Consider it a "teachable" moment.![]()

Yep
Striker 6 pc Classified is King
Nomad , Predators Mark 6pc Classified or Hybrid with Skull Gloves can go very good as well ( i'm sure this is very debatable amongst other players )
Love him or Hate check Marco Style on YouTube for more info on these builds.
OR
These players you see melting you or others are runnin some type of Hack or Chronusmax
My dream that everyone plays on a level field is more like a Nightmare.

1.8 is all about strikers and the house.
Them changing smg back to crit Chance killed off weapon diversity. Them creating a top notch exotic smg with bonus damage really killed diversity even more. There’s no point in using another gun 20 meters in.
Any build can melt with the house, but pop a booster with striker stacks or pred and it’s night night. Pred is easier to counter because it’s really the bleed not the bullet damage you’re worried about.
7700 FA is ok..insta melt is a bit over, pushing or exceeding 8k Fa with a booster shot and striker stacks on top of that 8k.
The M4 has been meta ever since 1.4, probably even before that, and even with the change to SMGs in 1.6, the M4 was still meta.Originally Posted by CJ Fresh Go to original post
Them putting crit chance back on SMGs didn't kill weapon diversity, there was never any in the first place. The M4 had zero flaws and every other weapon couldn't compete with it, except for now. The M4 has competition and people are upset about it because those who've sent me hate mail because of my House + Striker were M4 users lol.
Nomad isn't a damage build. Nomad is a survival build.
Strikers is the new meta.
They shouldn't be melting you in two or three shots really, but the House running at nearly 1000RPM can feel like it's happening pretty quick.
What guns are you using and what talents do they have?
What mods are you running on your gear?
Are you running with shock turrets, the station, homing grenades or what?
If you want to do damage then strikers should be the set you're running. You can even do a strikers stamina build

Actually the House is worse. It has practically the same damage output as the M4's but with body shots :sOriginally Posted by Merphee Go to original post
It wouldn't be so bad if the game wasn't such a CQC zigzag fest (and it got worse with 1.8, no surprise to me with the stamina & ttk increase) and thus favoring SMG's.
I'm taking a break from the game now as it's boring as hell, build diversity is completely gone due to Classifieds.
Also about CHC/CHD on SMG's: It shouldn't exist. SMG's should have more base damage, more HS damage but have a different boost as CHC/CHD is simply to valuable in PvP. In fact, SMG's, LMG's & AR's should've been more similar to eachother with just different handling mechanics / range / ...
Basically with the current TTK: If you're not running Striker/DeadEye, quick and fluid kills are gone, zigzagging like spastics is the only way.
Also if the House its talent proccs in the 2nd half of the magazine it can feel overwhelming, it's a sudden spike of damage, coupled with this netcode I often find myself popping medkits but still dying without critical save, etc kicking in.
Also not trying to belittle the OP but 105% CHD is actually not that high. My Nomad build with 7800 FA has 137% CHD which is almost 30% more damage.
It is always a trade off, but I tend to feel that the extra health rolls on kneepads and backpack are unnecessary with 450K Toughness. If someone is doing enough damage to tear through your overheal and all of that toughness, an extra 10% health won't make a huge difference.
Doing damage is not simply about killing the other person, it is about putting enough hurt on them that they need to turn and run to reload or leave a face tanking encounter because they are losing it etc. I wouldn't consider myself to have an insta melt build at all but if a Striker is giving my team issues and I face tank with Nomad available I know I can put a lot of Strikers down by taking advantage of the Nomad proc to keep face tanking.
That's because high pings can be both a good and bad thing depending on the situation.Originally Posted by SevenNVD Go to original post
At 100 ms vs 15 ms in CS for instance, you can prefire around corners easier, but defensive play is much harder as when you're stationary another player coming around the corner also has the 100 ms advantage over you.
