Its pretty Damn depressing to know that everything she does... is punishable with a gb... dodge sweep, her recovery feels like 10 years, dodging her shield bash also feels like a 10 year recovery. She legit only has 2 combos. Light light heavy or heavy light. If I try and become aggressive and do side dash's all they have to do to stop me is simply by blocking it. By blocking it allows them to get a free gb. As a valk main I use the dashes alot, too much. That's what gets me killed alot, by being aggressive. Its like ubisoft made her not to attack. Why is it fair that if I punish someone, they can punish my punish...... if I'm versing a raider, and I sweep him and follow up with a heavy and nothing else, her recovery is too slow to counter gb. So even if you land her iconic move you'll still get punished. I found out that if a raider dodges my light, and does that bullsh it instant gb, then he can gb me before i can follow up with a second light. She is the only character in the game that, everything in her moveset, Is punishable with a gb. Even dodging her lights, are punishable. So not only am I not able to do anything without risking getting gb, but even if i do land something, its a teeny tiny bit of damage. What I want for her to happend is: remove the ability to get a free gb off blocking her side dash, including her top dash, allow follow ups unless parried, increase speed of second light, give her some combos like:
(heavy-heavy) (Light-heavy)
(light-heavy-heavy-light) (Light-heavy-heavy)
And now for some changes. Give her faster gb recovery. Like come on. She has the slowest god Dam n recovery in the game. Being able to go in full guard alot quicker, increase deflect damage, and having a unblockable would be nice.I think her first light should do 20dmg and Her second light do 15 Her heavies dont need a buff since she can sweep for them.
Valk main and i agree on everything you say.İ mean forget recovery and Gb punishes,i would be extremely happy if they buffed her light attack damage since its the only thing i can use.The only ''safe'' attack is light and it does peanut damage.People are talking about high risk high rewards etc but i risk doing 2 lights in a row to get my sweep(no damage on that) and i get a free heavy...for 25-30 damage...can u believe the time,effort and risk to get that sweep only to get the damage of a regular heavy .And dınt get me talking about ganks....with the damage i do it takes so long to kill someone that u get tired and decide to rest in peace,other heros on revenge can grab and do a top heavy for 2 bars or more while i barely get 1,5 ...
She needs a few buffs or reworks
Yes, she needs some looking over for sure. I would like to see:
- A Light-Heavy-Light chain. This will make her attacks timings less predictable and you can feint the second heavy into shield crush for additional mix up.
- Pouncing Thrust can come from all directions, not just top. This will make it less predictable. The cancel from Shield Tackle will actually be useful.
- Slightly less stamina intense move set cost for sustained mix ups.
- Pouncing Thrust and Hunter's Strike are no longer punishable with GB on block.
- Basic Light Dmg 12 -> 13
- Second Chain Light Dmg 18 -> 17
EDIT:
- Stun effect on Shield Tackle removed.
- Stun effect on Sheld Crush added.
I thought about this some more during my daily Valkyrie struggles.
Shield Crush gives you absolutely nothing, well a knock back but it's practically a worthless move. If your opponent dodges it, you get punished with a GB. Given that GB will be harder to come by after the new patch and may be even considered luxury to get one. Why the hell would you even attempt a Shield Crush?
Shield Tackle on the other hand gives you: Full guard, a knockback, unbalance if charged AND a stun effect. What if Shield Crush was given the stun effect and Shield Tackle didn't have the stun effect? Suddenly it would actually become useful to use Shield Crush....
