Hi everyone, I'm new to the game....I have a couple of questions I hope some of you could help me with before I get deeper into the game...
1) Should I run the missions solo or matchmaking? I've done the Lincoln Tunnel, but now need to do the other two to unlock the wings. I've heard two different sides on websites and walkthrough guides.
2) Is it best to level up as much as possible before doing missions, or just plow through them to get areas unlocked?
3) What level should I get to before I enter the DZ? I'm not great at PvP...decent at Destiny, terrible at Battlefront and WWI/II.
Thanks for any help, tips, and suggestions...
1) Either works. Since you just got the game I wouldn't recommend powering to 30 without enjoying the journey and doing it solo or matchmaking is entirely up to you.
2) My recommendation here would be to do every side mission and supply encounter you can handle before doing a mission unless you're level is already at that missions recommended level. And don't move on to "unlocking" new areas until you've gone back and cleared up all the supply encounter and side missions in zones you're already in.
3) Don't go into the DZ until you get to 30, there really isn't anything worth doing in the DZ until you're in the top tier bracket and are going in to farm for stuff that will be useful in the "end game"
The more players in your group, the tougher the NPCs get. Solo is sometimes easier.Originally Posted by eckLub Go to original post
I like to be one or two levels above the mission's recommended level. A couple are pretty hard otherwise. I just clear entire zones before moving to the next.
The level 14 and below bracket DZ is arguably the most dangerous since you have a bunch of players in there with 1000s of hours. 100% maxed gear that isn't even available to new players any more.
It's not quite as bad around level 20 but it gets ridiculous again at level 29. Level 29 is maybe the best balanced PvP in the game without normalization so it's popular.
Best advice I can give you.... play the game however you like and don't rush. The endgame without a global event to back it up is absolutely pointless. 1 to 30 is the best levelling experience...once you're done with he main it's a roller coaster of fustration.Originally Posted by jerjdeg Go to original post
Play however you like, then go full tryhard during global events to get the only gear that matters.
Some friends of mine recommended making a 29 character for that very reason so I just leveled up a character to 29. Was kind of dreading the process because at least once a week it seems there is a topic about how the changes to the game since most of us remember going 1-30 made the experience a lot harder, sometimes almost too hard/impossible....couldn't be farther from the truth. Yeah I couldn't face tank enemies and spent almost all my time in cover, but that was a heck of a lot of fun! Did the entire thing solo and had zero issues.Originally Posted by mckrackin5324 Go to original post
Granted I've got almost 1600 hours invested in the game, play a lot of Survival so I'm used to the cover game, and every time I'd level up I went around to safehouses and purchase the best gear I could buy....but it was a pleasant change of pace from the usual play style the end game has.
On my first play through I took it slow and steady. Clearing every area before moving to the next. As in collect all the collectibles. Loot caches etc etc. That way, when it came to the next area I was adequately geared. And a better understanding of the game. There is a lot to this game during the lvl 1 to 30 experience. Relish it.
Agree 100%. I really enjoyed the "campaign" portion of the game. I, too, took my time and enjoyed the journey.Originally Posted by Voronja_SaVi Go to original post

1 to 30 is great, after that it's absolute full of total knobheads and ruin the game, people are leaving left right ans centre. The player base on it now is no more than 3% of what it was on release, you can't find groups if you wanted too anyway so you'rr going to have to play solo, which is not the point of the game and ruins it as its meant to be a team work game.
My advice, take it back. I've played it on release and conpared to release to now it's absolutely pitiful. Especially wiyh established players putting newcomers off so badly. Good luck if you stick with it, it will be a giant waste of time though for you.
I've played through the story mode four times..for my four characters. The first time I played the character leveling and progression felt very natural and did not require much thinking at all. Things only start to slow after level 25 so do the SIDE missions since they give you lots of XP towards leveling up. You could play the missions if you're 1 or 2 levels below the the mission level but it's harder so will take more time and patience. Matchmaking for the story mode is practically non existent unless you're lucky to find a new player or old player with a new character but for most of the missions, soloing is fine. It's the later missions that are tougher.
