    Far Cry 5: Fighter Glitch

Have you tried going to your roster removing the fighter and then rehiring him? Also it might be worth noting that until you unlock the skill "leadership" you can only have one gun for hire available at a time. I'm sure if you just dismiss the fighter and hire either the same fighter or a different one they should be with you.

what can i make them do?

I am playing on Xboxone, I know the controller commands for guns for hire (left and right D-pad), I'm just not clear on what I can make them do. In a fight, so far I just let them roam around killing characters. Can I assign them areas to fight from? If so, how?

    peaches is incredible

she (and i assume the other fangs too??) does not set off cultists as in believing they are under attack by you. what i mean is if for example you have to rescue hostages if the cult sees you or human allies they will start killing the hostages.
peaches just counts as a wild cougar so that if they do see her they just spout the same lines as when they are attacked by wild cougars and dont start killing hostages, calling in support or setting off alarms etc.

the quest to get jess i just sat back with my binos and sent peaches in to each camp and she killed everyone (most in stealth) saving everyone. including the last camp the boss "cook" i sent peaches in and she stealth killed him first then she mauled the others. jess said something along the lines of he got a better death that he deserved but i was quite satisfied the evil **** had his throat torn out by a cougar.
in the quest to rescue the whitetails at the visitor center then theres those other 2 at devils drop, eli tells you on the radio that the front entrance is the crazy way, nuh-uh i just sat back away and sent peaches in the front marking targets for her she killed all but one cultist herself, the last guy was a rocket launcher guy and his rocket blew up the two trucks in the tunnel killing himself and knocking peaches down. i just ran in revived her untied the 2 hostages gave peaches a pat then went to the bar.

oh and she feasts on cultist corpses after battle too.

grace and jess are awesome, i usually have 2 of these 3 with me, although i have some good guns for hire too and use them alot

i find nick and adelaide pretty useless, they get shot down by enemy planes far faaaar more often than they shoot anything down. both are fun to watch strafing convoys though
hurk is hopeless, he has killed me and my other GFHs more than he has killed enemies. says some funny **** though. him and jess together are funny
havnt used cheesburger much just for his 10 kill challenge, boomers ability to mark targets is good but hes a bit meh otherwise, havnt unlocked sharky yet

    yes

you can mark targets for them to engage (highlight bad guy and push left or right on dpad depending which GFH you wish to engage who)
you can position them by pointing at an area and pushing left or right dpad and they will go to that spot
you can call them back or cancel orders by holding down on left or right dpad

    All in one place

I went to one place (Faith making me trip) where they were all just hanging outinside this restaurant. A cougar attacked and when I fought it, the guns for hire all turned on me. Weird.

In my first game I had a gun for hire that had the "Herbalist" skill. Very useful having her around, she would spot and collect all the herbs as we roamed around. Now I am replaying on the highest difficulty, and I am trying to get another like her.

I have an idea that your gun for hire can be trained after you hire them, they learn by observing your actions, so if I want a herbalist I have a new GFH tag along while I collect herbs, then after the first 6 kills he/she would be a herbalist. Can anyone confirm that the AI works like this?

Doesn't work that way for me.
Seems random (ish ). For example, Easy Mode GFH would be an Herbalist and Quick Health recovery more frequently than other combinations.
On Normal Mode the GFH would often repair my vehicle for me .. IF I didn't get the perk yet.
On Hard Mode it seemed even more random. Seems the 2 skills they would throw together would be something like taking more damage and faster health recovery.. or something along those lines.

Doesn't seem to be any guaranteed way to get an Herbalist or Mechanic so I just level them until both GFH perks are known and then remove the GFH when I find one that suits my needs.
