Any way to farm division tech outside of DZ efficiently?

    Topic says it all.

    Thanks

P.S. The whole concept of PvP/PvE in one area seems nice on paper but doesn't work. I don't want to engage in it, I don't want to spec my character for it. All I want is some division tech. And as far as I can tell, there is a lot of it in the Dark Zone and not in may other places. I tried avoid other players, but what can you do when you eventually have to extract your loot boxes. The crazy long chopper timer gives every 4 man group of griefers miles around time enough to make a cup of tea and still show up to shoot you to bits...

There are other options to farm Div Tech but nothing that even comes remotely close to the efficiency of farming Div Tech in the DZ. what I would suggest if you are having trouble is to only farm the Div Tech crates. Of course caches will increase your haul substantially but your time is wasted if as you state you are unable to extract and have them stolen. Div Tech taken from crates cannot be stolen so farming that exclusively is time well spent. Just look for a server where Div Tech is up, plan a God route and move quickly.

Alternatively move down to lower DZ brackets using the guides available elsewhere in the forum. This requires some technique to do but allows you to farm Div Tech in relative peace.

I reluctantly head into the DZ to get Div Tech. Hitting the DT crates was OK, but slow. Plus lately it seems there are more people grabbing them so most of them are gone when I do my run. If I am in the mood, I will grab purple and yellow crates and attempt to extract, but this can be frustrating. Other than that, there is West Side Piers at 3 Tech per mission, again slow, or farming resistance caches at 1 Tech per box. The most bang for your buck to me is doing the 4 incursions and 3 legendaries once a week. You get quite a bit of Div Tech off that. I usually end up with over 150 Div Tech after a couple hours every Friday night. Alas, that is only once a week though. Other than that, breaking down anything I loot is the only other way. All are slow compared to the amount needed. It is the second most frustrating part of the game for me.

If in the DZ, grabbing Caches is the best way.

I pretty much do the same, issue I have is how expensive one optimisation is - can farm for an hour (or more) to finally have 50 DT and roll on the station gives you a couple more points in stamina for eg on that piece.

Am completely ok with that it is a slowish process to improve your gear but at the moment it's mentally draining looking at how much DT is needed and how long it takes to accumulate - to the point I've burnt out after finally finishing my striker optimisation. So yes fully support it being more 'freely' available in other areas as at the moment in the DZ it rains DT to the point even redbar npc's can and do drop it.

I've found I can usually upgrade a couple of times a night doing resistance. You get a lot of WSP caches that always contain them, then all the crap you break down. On top of that I'm also getting decent drops from the event itself.

I just run to wave 12 solo and can usually open the crate 3 times, plus the tier 2 cache for boss wave 10.

Doing all incursions minus stolen signal and all 3 legendaries on 4 characters a week gives around 750 dtech

    Create a second character.
Progress until you can access your stash.
Get a level 1 Gun, and a level 1 backpack.
Move all Backpacks and Guns to that second character.
Put the level 1 Gun and level 1 Backpack in the stash.
    Log into main character.
Take level 1 gun and level 1 backpack out of your stash and place the high level items in the stash
    Log into low level character.
Pull high level gun and backpack out of stash (At this point, there should be no guns or backpacks in your stash)
Log back into your main character. Your gear score should now be in the 220's.
    Reduce World Tier to 4.
Enter Dark Zone and farm till your heart's content.

Summary: There are far less players in lower world tier DZ servers. This should allow you to farm Division Tech without interruption. You might find the occasional rogue, but it isn't often at all. And you will rarely have to compete for DT spawns. Just don't rely on this for Gear, as it will all be very low gear score.

You can always farm weapon parts and tools (in the LZ or any content) Craft Damascus and dismantle.
I'll do that and watch a movie at the same time over farming caches in the DZ at the risk of loosing them.

People like to play the game at different levels of intensity. I got use to farming crafting materials at a relaxing pace in another game.
