lol. you know what is op? nomad is op. you get a proc and boom, you get 60% resistance, proc again? boom 60% dmg resistance. another proc??? 60%dmg resistance. what? another proc again? 60% dmg resistance. while with 2 guys having emp sticky and with the proper distance can render a striker useless the whole fight. for me striker is the most balanced set in game. if there is a gearset you would call op its nomad, not striker.

I'm still baffled by Sentry's not being workable for PvP.

Oh my GOD, it might give a truly tremendous headshot bonus, and spread marks out so a group of people suffers a damage bonus! All of which requires tremendous skill or luck at hitting the same target in the head over and over again, said target being a player with really erratic movement!

Because that's so OP compared with Pred or Strikers.

Exactly! The set has been double nerfed into oblivion. The nerf to shields means that unless you are running a D3FNC set your shield has zero strength or sustain. This means it would be next to impossible for a Sentry user to apply marks close up with a pistol. As you said this leaves marking people from distance with a sniper or an MDR.

To be honest even if they allowed the 6-piece bonus in PvP, as things stand it still wouldn't be strong enough to counter Striker.

Agreed. It would simply become MORE viable in PVP (ie, go from 'is crap' to 'potentially has some use'). One might stand off with MDR and pot shots at the manhunt group to help everyone else getting in there and digging in. That kind of thing.

As it is, now, that does...pretty much nothing (I speak from experience).

I think MedKits clean off the marks, to boot.

The thing that I love is when I have 100 stacks and I'm doing zero damage to a player. I have over 7k firearms and it is like throwing water balloons at players. This game was made by blind monkeys.

in regard to the sentey comments above, sentry misses head shots too often to be anything worth investing dtech on.

Stryker is strong but i don't it is op. It does look OP in the hands of a very skilled player or in a nice group else it is ok bit stronger then some sets can easyly be killed by pred or out tanked by nomad. BUt not as bad as ppl say. I don't think it is a good idea to nurf it.

I don't really care what they do to any of the sets as long as they are making the changes via PVP modifiers and leave the PVE community alone. I like how all the sets I currently have setup including Striker's (except Tacticians Authority since it really does nothing outside of faster skill speed you can't accomplish with any electronics skill build due to 450K skill power cap) for PVE work.

Unfortunately it seems whenever the very vocal PVP minority that actually come to these forums screams loud enough we get "changes or nerf's" across the board for an entire part of the game that did not need it or want it.

Debatable. Accurate MDR's are great for headshots, and even normal ones are good. It's great against NPC's, I wreck them with either a sniper or an MDR. And players?

The other day, I joined a fight against a manhunt group in the DZ, managed four quick shots against a Rogue before someone in his group cleared the Manhunt. Got two ticks on him. Worked just fine.

And if Sentry's is so hard to get headshots, what was the need for the nerf to start with?

It depends what one practices. If one has done a lot of Strikers, pouring ammo into bodies to get the stacks up, or done a lot of work with pred trying just to get those 10 shots in, or, or, or...yeah, it's going to be hard to get headshots.

If one has done a lot of practice with Sentry, working toward snapping off accurate headshots with decent speed, one starts to do that much more smoothly and automatically. Not perfectly, but better.

    You get you practice. ^_^

Edit: Having said that, as noted I am in no way saying that a Sentry with a functional 6 piece bonus for PvP will equal Strikers, Nomad, or Pred in PvP. It won't.

But it will be a heck of a lot more viable in PvP than it is now (virtually useless) and we might see some people using it from time to time, for fun.

i figured id be a sentry sniper, but after dead on headshots on npc not registering i dropped it. striker works too well as a sniper with the lvaoc as a sniper. i might try thw house and mdr again ,but its hard to beat the ar when some shots dont register.
