So I finally caved in and ran Warrengate legendary solo.
I hate that mission on normal.
I get it done and go put that cool black shirt on my DZ character. Nice.
So I'm kicked back and watching some Youtube videos. Chillin out. Relaxin' and actin all cool.
It dawns on me that I never opened the exotic cache. Never even crossed my mind.
It wasn't long ago that I'd have been scrambling to open it right there in the control room but now...I know it's just crafting materials.
I wish it had a chance at classifieds or something interesting.
By the way...NONE of the bosses dropped $#!+. I felt ripped off. lol
I hate all of it.Originally Posted by Mad-Cap Go to original post
I did actually get killed twice this time though. It wasn't easy or boring. hahaha
That is the crux of my argument regarding LZ/DZ gear differential. I realize some of these things were afterthoughts, or whatever, but they're in the game now, so they should serve a purpose.Originally Posted by mckrackin5324 Go to original post
It's just my opinion, but it seems to me in the beginning when gear sets were first introduced the 'design intent' was the same as it is now, the DZ provides greater 'rewards'. But it's only in frequency, not in terms of difficulty. This is why it seemed out of place for PVE-only people when trying to progress at 30/End Game, to see sets like Sentry/Striker in Dragon's Nest only, or Falcon's Lost, etc. Clearly it is/was more difficult to kill the Firetruck and APC than it is/was to clear a landmark in the DZ.
Yet if you don't/didn't DZ that was your path. The other activities that could help lead you to that End Game rewarded you with 95% Lone Star. So back in that time if you wanted to get anything other than LS, or HE, you ventured into the DZ to try your luck.
Now, since the ETF's and so on, they decided to go completely the other direction and have reds drop gear set pieces... never happened prior to 1.4. Yet they also reorganized the difficulty in the PVE modes, even added World Tiers... which was fine until they decided for a third 'gear reset' in the guise of Classified gear while not having any new PVE content, prior to WSP. So, in order to keep that whole 'the DZ has the best rewards' spiele going, the difficulty of content is irrelevant, the frequency is what's being held back.
I can solo clear any DZ Landmark or Contaminated Event and do so just as often as I can a Legendary or Incursion, yet I know going in the likelihood of those bosses dropping anything commensurate with the difficulty is an exercise in futility. Heck, they even just drop loot in your bag in the DZ for clearing a LM, don't even have to pick it up. Yes that's a new thing, and no they usually don't drop Classy as a LM clear reward, but the bosses drop Classy, and just as I explained in another thread, they're no harder to kill and require no more effort than an LZ boss or Challenging mission/UG boss. Nowhere else in the game is there a Sgt.Wilbur... and yet that punk never drops anything Classy. Well prior to 1.8 and the supposed changes to Named Bosses.
Now there really can't be any other reason for the way loot is distributed via content modes, except that the DZ has a higher frequency of the premier loot because there's a chance you'll have to not just kill the boss to get it, you might have to kill 1-23 other people too, multiple times, or none at all. Either way the time gate is still in place... in theory. What happens though is people who are good at PVP arbitrarily hold down loot acquisition for others, which in turn forces them to seek other alternatives.
They should have a smarter progression system, difficulty should matter outside of testing your limits or the plateau of overscaling NPC'S.
I don't really care about PVP one bit, when it's not anything goes and the gameplay is reduced to 2m face-trading and combat rolls, it's a joke. Not ok for skill builds to kill a player but it's plenty ok for a Striker-shotgunner to rule for the second time in this game... most dangerous place my @ss. When rogues have to worry about being one shot with a sticky, or a sniper in a perch, then PVP will be going somewhere.
Anyway, sorry to go off on so many things in your thread, but your basic point is the complex reason behind a lit of frustration with this game from a PVE standpoint, PVPers have it pretty good.
Do you know what my rewards were for the UG weekly cache, lolOriginally Posted by mckrackin5324 Go to original post

A 268 gs DE holster (non classy)
And.......a sight lol.
It’s funny how the hardest content in the game doesn’t even drop classy gear, what a sham
