Personally don't understand why some of us gamers complain about some thing like drop shotting in a game that uses auto aim assist... 🤔🤔🤔 just move you finger off the aim button and back on... wala!!!! Headshot! That is the single reason I have never used it...
also at close range it's kinda hard to miss your target in real life but we "chicken wing" that weapon and you can keep firing down range while dropping to the prone...
Aim Assist in PvP you say?Originally Posted by Lil_Trigga21 Go to original post![]()
I take issue with it.
If I try anything of the sort, I am instakilled with a single headshot, when it somehow takes me 2-3 headshots to kill somebody (and even then they may still survive!).
I never saw the need for a recoil penalty initially because I didn't see it in use. Now it happens way too much, but only among the "leets" (aka tryhards).
Definitely needs to be looked into.
Really. Why are we still trying to remove this. It’s not a big deal. I honestly don’t use this on people. However if I behind cover that has my head exposed prone is the safe way when getting shot at then pop up and shoot. Even better some cover has holes underneath where you can prone quickly to shoot the enemy feet. This tactic you guys see works in a lot of ways than your particular issue and taking a way would remove a lot of things. Think of quarry with the holes in the ground. Quickly prone and may save your head from snipers when running.
If you have an issue learn how to counter it and not run to the Devs. They can only hold your hands so much. This is not even a bug or glitch in the game. It’s legit. We have a lot of other stuff to fix. It’s good you made this post but accept the feedback on how to fight back instead of I quit just remove it.

It is the ability to do it without suffering any degradation to aim assist and even without that, sufficient degradation to scope sway.
I think everyone agrees that "drop-shotting" is a stupid mechanic for any shooter. Unfortunately this same mechanic has been *****ed about in Rainbow Six Siege for a long time now and nothing has changed there either. Though I will say it is far less common to see in Ghost War but I have seen it a few times, especially recently. I think the best fix would be a prone animation that you can't shoot while doing. It only makes sense.
Personally, I think there should be some sort of recovery penalty between transitional moves like this. ....or something along those lines. I haven't done it myself but have seen others do it from time to time. I would agree that it should be tweaked as folks are obviously using it as an "exploit" of sorts to get kill shots.
...on another note, I'm a little perplexed with the "realism" argument being used with this one mechanic in a game with so many unrealistic elements. I can understand a point about balance or gameplay, but if we're going to argue for more realism, there is a laundry list of things in this game that we should be talking about.
....but anything that gets us closer to making GW generally more realistic than it is has my vote.
Nobody is asking for the removal of prone.Originally Posted by xxFratosxx Go to original post
I'm Prestige 6 and I have very rarely had people attempt this against me on PS4. Nobody really does this on PS4. To counter it, all you need to do is move sideways and aim low. By moving in a circular direction around them you take advantage of their decreased maneuverability while firing from prone. By default I am always moving sideways in a close-range gunfight to be a more difficult target. This is something you learn to do autonomously after years of playing third-person shooters.
