I post this out of pure disgust and I am done with this problem.
I have played this game with my american friend, and overall gameplay is fun but it comes with great cost - the game kills his microphone sound levels. And I mean, literally kills it.I am in-game, invite him to the lobby and the moment uPlay says he is also playing the game, his voice in Discord just DIES. I need to double his sound level, almost max out sound level of my headphone and also make all sounds in my PC to around 25%. Then I can hear him. Others in our voice chat? Too bad, they need to be lower a bit as well and takes quite a work to find the right level for everyone.
Important note: he can hear me normally at all times. Problem is, others can hear him normally, granted they dont play Wildlands with us. Anyone who does, is effected.
Best side? We shutdown the game and the problem is there to stay. I cannot hear my friend. We both restart our PCs, and you know what? It is still there. This problem just fades randomly, in a day or three. Then when we play Wildlands again, it does it again. Every damn time.
We dont see any changes in Windows sound level. No microphone sounds killed in mixers, no options changed in the device properties in itself. We always make sure that programs are not allowed to alter the device, but yet Wildlands always does it.
This is beyond me. How the problem can persist for days?
I tried today with other group, to see if problems arise with them. Guess what? My microphone got killed, no one could hear. They upped me to 200% in Discord, and no - I am little silent mouse. Thank you for this game, after restarting PC and trying different programs and servers, different in-game voips. All are killed. And my Device properties and sound levels are where they should be, same as always. So are the settings of the programs.
How this game can kill your volume without clearly showing any difference in Windows settings?
Dont even suggest the following, oh boy I have tried.
# all drivers up to date, no matter what driver versions I go to - problem stays
# problem arises to different persons, with different headphones and microphones.
# running game as admin
# we have tried plugging mics to different ports, even though hardware problem is ruled out by the fact the problem is created by software
Only thing is certain: one guy in the group loses microphone levels upon launching Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands, and problem stays even with PC restart. And this is universal problem, within all softwares even though no one can spot a change in microphone properties.
Hey Ilgoth, I recommend creating a ticket with what you have tried and MSINFO and DXDIAG files so we can investigate this.
