IF Ubisoft added a RoE toggle - 'Weapons Free' and 'Hold Fire' --- it would go a heck of a long way to making things better, a lot better.

But, I don't think you can compare this game to games like Arma (which is Bohemia - the original Operation Flashpoint Dev) - that game is a proper legit military simulator.
I would say GRW is an action/stealth shooter with pseudo realism.

The Team AI -- I honestly think was either a rush job or just wasn't prioritised. Unfortunately. It's bare bones.

BUT, I personally do still find some ways to use them strategically like I've mentioned...

I don't expect GR to come to the level of realism ARMA has. Neither do I want it. But I do expect Ubisoft's games to have a better squad AI than Bohemia's as I am pretty certain Bohemia's complete team is smaller than the number of Ubisoft AI specialists.

As Bluefox pointed out, the squadmates are not even stupid. They are just automated beyond what a player can use. Ubisoft tried to streamline the controlls to remove the micromanagement, ignoring the fact that it is necessary to some degree to have the minimal amount of controll and oversight of the team. The 'Fire!' command shows you how efficient they could be moving (even without the damage and speed buffs). But well... maybe the next GR will show some significant improvement here. I mean just individual controlls + RoE would already cover it. So without it implemented I don't see the point of getting a 'tactical shooter' and I definitely won't buy another GR just for the coop.

I never got to play ARMA but I did play a lot of the various OFPs since the original release. I had a ton of fun with it back when I used to build my own PCs.

GRW was so close to becoming a great milsim-ish title that I believe could appeal to so many including even the hardcore fans among us. I don;t think anyone was asking that it be a simulator like ARMA. For those of us on console, this was as close as we got to something of this genre in a long time.

Personally, I think it's a genre that is ripe for the taking on console. I truly believe there is a market and all that is needed is a good title to get the ball rolling. I'm excited to see other games like PUBG, DayZ, Insurgency: Duststorm, etc. coming to console this year. While not all of them are ones that I would be particularly interested in, they do have those milsim elements that up to this point, have been nearly exclusive to PC.

If we could get a game like Squad on PS4, I'd be really happy.

I would have preferred if they had leaned a little closer to ARMA....

But I think GRW strikes a reasonable balance actually. It's got a lot of stuff I like. I'd say the Team AI are among the weakest parts of the game unfortunately.

But Ubisoft has alway dipped their toes in something more 'hardcore', but never fully go in... The money is too big of a guiding factor. I just get the feeling that they never want to go too hardcore for fear of not hitting a mass market and alienating the casual gamer.

Since we have drone and actually able to use command while using it, an individual command is going to be really great.

But it's clear that they were focusing on the co-op for the PvE. Hence why single player is so all-round half *** when it comes to features. Next time they should have just focused on single player. You can't just do everything or some will be left out.

Yeah that's about as useful as they can be...
I wanna do some more videos when I have time. You can be somewhat creative with them - but yeah, it is limited.

I just use them in the main as support or for the occasional diversion or setting up a cross fire.

Arma, for me personally, is the other extreme and perhaps not so much on how hard the AI or enemy AI is but in the way you almost use all of your KB buttons and the ones on your Mouse as well that by the time I try to remember which button to click on to perform a task, I am already dead. I think that I tried Flash Point for a mission and I couldn't hack it after that.

What I would love to have is... Ability to command my squad the same way I did back in OGR, perhaps implementing a couple or few more options like "Defend my 6 when I am shooting and you are behind me", soul swapping, this way I can do mostly all the killing/shooting while utilizing all my prefered weapons. But of course, as a single player having the enemy AI programmed the way this one is, then the above changes would not matter much... both AI need to be coded with some better effort.

And LaMoi, I would love to discuss your video a little further but the last thing I want is coming off as I am dissing you or your way of playing because of my lack of grammar and vocabulary.
