    Response

Welcome to the communities feelings toward "lootcrate/box, predatory methodologies in general. We all understand microtransactions keep the checks paid to a point, and servers up, and help recoup development costs, ect..., its the asinine use of Loot-crates/boxes/packs, ect that we detest, and for some of us, myself and many in 12 step programs feel prey on us.

Secondly do you think its a good idea to get snarky with customers in the current environment?

    Battle Crates Content

Battle Crate is the name of a collection of crates specifically designed for the Campaign and co-op mode (Spec Ops Crate) as well as for the Ghost War mode (Ghost War Crate). Spec Ops Crates contain Epic Weapons, Exotic Weapons, Vehicles and tons of cosmetic items for you to enjoy even more in the whole Campaign mode.

Ghost War Crates contain Exotic Weapons (re-skinned versions of weapons already available in the game – no impact on the weapon stats), customization items and an exclusive new line of skins for your character, called Icons.

Overall, all the cosmetic items you get can be used in both the Campaign and Ghost War modes. More than 200 items are available through the Battle Crates experience. All the items are also purchasable in the store through the various pack offers, except for the Icon skins that are exclusive to the Ghost War Crates.

When you open your box they will automatically be unlocked in your inventory.

From what I understand, though I don't play GW, there are no servers to pay for. And development costs were recouped just in sales. So this is just a pure extra cash grab.

And I may have missed it where did Ubi get snarky with the customers? Could you shoot me a link?

Even in a P2P set up you need server space to connect players, plus in Ghost War, relay servers are being used to resolve the NAT issues between players.

There are also ongoing development costs because changes are being made still.

Oh I didn't know that, I thought they were using some kind of old school computer to computer hookup for some reason. I don't play online games so my knowledge of how they connect is super weak.

They already added this lootcrate scam yet the the syn issue is still horrible and not fixed, players not seeing the same thing or downright not moving and need to restart to sync back. This goes to show that they are really not doing anything to fix their game and just keeps adding more cosmetic stuff to sell every update.

I really wish you can earn those crates, specially the campaign and coop crates through in game currency somehow and just milk those playing the PVP multiplayer gamers. AC Origins and Far Cry 5 did it well but this game is clearly just milking their players.

Also Monster Hunter World have servers as well yet they did not have the audacity to anger their playerbase and milk them as they could. Ubisoft has more money yet more greedy in this practice.
