Statistics: The probability of getting a legendary from a Battle Crate.

Disclaimer: These stats are not scientific. They are based on observation of six people who opened Battle Crates and showed it on Youtube. I do not make a difference what kind of crate is being opened.

Since I do not think most players will buy all of them, I restricted myself to a maximum of ten boxes. That is what I consider is what your average consumer would purchase. Ten Crates cost you 4000 Credits. Without the Credits sale, That is around 15 USD. In total, six people opened 55 crates.

    RESULTS:

In 55 boxes, there was 83 Rare items (Weapon skins, tattoos, clothing etc), 62 Epic Items (Weapon Skins, clothing etc) including four costumes and 5 legendaries (4 Icons), a total of 150 items was collected.

One player reported a duplicate item (El Tiro Mask) and out of the Icons, IQ was the won by two out of the four icons won.

This would mean that a chance to get an Icon is roughly 3%. This is horrible chances if you buy the packs simply to get the Icons and while your chances increase for every pack you do not get the icon, I do not think many people buy that many battle crates. However, this is misleading - I used several peoples experiences and limited the number of packs meaning I took the increased chance the more packs you open out of the equation. That is why I had my 10 Packs max rule. The results show that you are unlikely to get the Icons even if you invest 15-20 bucks.

If you wish to double check my numbers - and I encourage you to; i might got something wrong - you can see my sources and numbers below.

What I got from the free crates:
    Spec Ops:
    - War face paint (that red tribal/ritual face paint basically)
    - El Tio mask
    - Gun paint (the red one from Extranjeros pack)

    Ghost War:
    - Face mask (that thick half face mask ghost war pack)
    - Moss ghillie suit (from ghost war pack)
    - Army Truck

They should split the packs into 3-4 different cates: weapon camos, cosmetics (individual piece), Gameplay (weapon variants and vehicles), and Costumes

I got the Dragonbreath MP5, Blaze C1 and a crappy weapon skin, Day of the Skull, I think. None of which I would hazard are Legendary.

I don't remember all of what I got, but it included the ACR Baby Vintage, Yeti Hunter costume, left arm camouflage tattoo, and the Chocolate Chip weapon paint.

And be honest, how many of those will you actually use in the game?

For me it is none. Both guns I got looked ridiculous and the only people I could envision using them is some Somali pirate or African child soldier, not a first world special ops soldier, and the camo was equally unuseable. Will I buy another box? NO! There is nothing in them I want. I don't play GW so I don't care about Icons, and the weapons are all non-customizable.

The Chocolate Chip weapon paint for sure. The ACR Baby Vintage will get some early game use like the ACR GRFS does, since Ubi saw fit not to include the ACR in any weapons shortcut packs for reasons. I'd use the arm tattoo if it had been included for both arms. The Yeti Hunter costume is probably the only one I won't use.

    And that's me being honest.

There are 220 items & 14 icons. That's actually a 6% chance you'll get one of them from a loot crate. This indeed isn't a very good chance to unlock the only new items in these loot crates, since everything else has already been available to purchase for months now.

Yeah I looked at the Chocolate Chip and I could say I would use that one too, looks pretty good. I'm glad you got stuff you could at least get some use from. I bet a lot of people did. I just don't like the guns that look ridiculous and you can't change to your liking.
