One small, but fun part of today's Den some people might overlook, was a hint that there's easter eggs on the last 2 DLC maps, Market Town and Gauntlet that's yet to be found. 1 easter egg on each I believe.
So, why not try to band together and find them? Maybe the Devs will bless us with Steel or just a neat shoutout on the next Den. If nothing else, at least we can have some with it!
I've just tried perusing the Gauntlet map, but no luck. The other easter eggs in For Honor have usually been found in the environment, but I couldn't quite spot anything out of the ordinary in the landscape around the map.
For Honor doesn't really do a lot of easter eggs, so It's hard to tell what's meant to be one, and what isn't. The statue on C on High Fort for example, is a copy of an actual Viking statue in Denmark. In that vein, I found what I'm pretty sure is a copy of a runestone inscription and illustration behind the attackers spawn on Gauntlet on some busted barricade.
I'm also trying to decipher a variety of rune phrases found around the map, along with some pretty neat drawings.
No luck so far on my end, but I'll keep looking.
Oh dude, Battlefield 3, 4 and 1 are all packed with easter eggs. You've probably found plenty in there, just haven't noticed them.Originally Posted by DoctorMcBatman Go to original post
I managed to identify the runestone illustration I found, no idea if this is actually it, probably isn't, but still kinda neat.
I'd confused the illustration with some found on older, actual runestones made in the same art style, turns out this one is from a modern day runestone, http://www.runestonecarver.com/galle...ikingline.html
I never noticed this. Kudos for having such a good eye. This might indeed be the easter egg in Gauntlet.Originally Posted by Tundra 793 Go to original post
I've given up on the runic inscriptions. I never actually thought they'd be the easter egg, but I'd be wanting to try and translate them since Season 1, looking for funny/hidden messages from the level designers. But as far as I can make out, the inscriptions in game are made out of at least 2-3 different runic alphabets, and appear largely random.
Crikey, they don't even tell you guys? So no chance we can get a small hint?Originally Posted by UbiJurassic Go to original post
I did make a bit of progress; The Mortal Kombat easter egg on Sanctuary Bridge only appears in Duel mode, so whatever we're looking for might only appear in certain modes. Time of day doesn't appear to affect it though.
So I'll be trying Duel modes and work my way up.

It likely wouldn't be too hard for us to get that information, but where's the fun in that?Originally Posted by Tundra 793 Go to original post![]()
Yeeah you're right. I've done a good number of Duels and Brawls on Gauntlet so far, but haven't spotted anything out of the ordinary. Yet.Originally Posted by UbiJurassic Go to original post
That runestone image could be it though. All the other quirky runic inscriptions and drawings I've found all repeat across the map, they're just standard images the level designers can plaster on most surfaces it seems. But that red dragon doesn't appear anywhere else on the map.
There's also a really large, and very ornately decorated wooden gated near the Defenders spawn in Dominion. I can't make out if it's anything special though, but it looks very unique and detailed for just a gate...
