Another 13GB update -- Why can't we get patches?

I just downloaded a 13GB update, like 2 days ago! I have 36GB a month data limit and no Internet product in my area to be able to buy more.

So what happens now -- I wait til next month to download this 13GB update, only to get a few hrs game time, to download, yet another 13GB+ update!?

How do I get ahead of this. So I can play the product I purchased??

There is no way you guys can tell me these are actually 'patches' because we're essentially re-downloading the core game, every time there's a change. I doubt there's even 4GB patch data in these, why can't you guys just deploy patches?

I'm trying to get a dialogue on this. I love the game, been supporting it since day one. However, I think more ppl would love it too, but these updates are too big a hurdle. I pay $105 a month for Internet, for 36GB and then download, up to a 14GB update; that's $46 a month to play the game, straight up. On top of a physical purchase, buying credits for the shop and purchasing MT's; you can see on my account I've given. Can we get an "official" dialogue going here, about this plz?

As it stands, I cannot play this game on XBOX Until next month now. It won't let me til the update is installed.

Man ! That internet provider of yours is really sucking money from you !
I just upgraded my 4G mobile internet, from 40€ a month for 60 GB data. to 30€ a month for unlimited data.
I would suggest to look for other option in your area.

Each patch is actually includes a compilation of all previous patches in addition to the newest patch. They do this to prevent any unforeseen conflicts. It's not just Ubisoft, all developers do this.

    They really don't.

I'm also on a capped plan but I get free midnight to 0600 data.

Last night I updated ARK, PUBG, Rust, Space Engineers, World of Warships, World of Tanks, War Thunder and Overwatch and it only came to a total of 15gb. 13gb for one piddly little game? Cracked.

I'll update it when I next have insomnia. Until then I guess I'm not playing Wildlands.

If Ubisoft doesn't do it that way (maybe one of the CMs can inquire about this), maybe they should? Might cut down on some issues.

Wouldn't be surprised, I'm honestly tempted to just uninstall Wildlands, most of their updates are absurdly large and many of which fix next to nothing, hell half the time more stuff ends up broken afterwards.

Typical WIldlands update experience for me

    - turns Xbox on -

Oh cool WIldlands has an update....

What the **** why is it 17 gigs

    - goes to the forums to look at the patch notes -

patch notes : Campaign; fix 2 minor bugs you've never even encountered

    THAT'S IT?!?

Thanks for the replies guys. Kinda surprised no one from Ubisoft has entered the conversation yet.

To recap, I am effectively locked out of being able to play the game. No other Internet product is available to me and even if it were, I'm in a contract.

I like the game a lot. I really do and I'm sure most other ppl would too, but this is prohibitive, even for those where data cap isn't an issue. These update sizes may not sit well with their point of view, or are too large to be downloaded within an unrestricted window. -- I've come out and stated my situation openly, because I see no reason not to; it's a well known fact most ppl won't publicly proclaim their in a less than ideal situation (about anything), given the stigma associated with the most outlandish replies. They'd rather trash the game and it's devs, which is both unfair and just how the situation distills for them.

I can't elect to [cancel] the update, for some reason. So that even if I elect to play in offline mode, the game won't begin. Microsoft has provided a global cancel function, but given I have to manage my data cap, this would also remove any other paused updates, to other products (wholesale). If I do play in offline mode, anything tied to an online verification, isn't available to me. -- I'm very effectively "locked out" of being able to use my purchase.

I can understand this in terms of multiplayer, but why can't access the game and associated content (I have the season pass too), already installed and evidently working? -- Am I wrong in feeling that being able to play the game, should be the top priority, under all circumstances? The situation is very unrewarding.

^ It seems it's on Microsoft's end for your trouble.

I'm on PS4 and I can play just fine without updating. Except it'll be in offline mode.

Honestly, with the way most people are reacting now to the current patch, I can understand that Ubisoft need the space to either (1) let the rage die down a little bit, or (2) fix the current issues with the patch as a hot fix.

Only time will tell; I can only hope Ubisoft keep their word but they have shown to not keep it before, but I'd like to be optimistic.

Yes, I'm not replying to certain comments because their responses are outlandish. I'm trying to open a positive dialogue but seems, am not getting an official response. I'm still optimistic.

I didn't know the latest patch had such a maelstrom of issues surrounding it. Personally I haven't encountered anything urgent or game breaking, in my play time; but also realise if that is different for others, then it needs attention.

My whole point is being effectively locked out of the game; and if that was happening to someone else and not me, I would certainly be commenting, "that's not good enough".

With such large updates (in my case), just 2 days apart; I certainly don't expect to be downloading the full culminating update twice over. That's a huge amount of data. I would expect to only have to update the difference between the two updates. I don't think I'm being unreasonable or unrealistic here.
