So, my apologies for inquiring upon this matter, but as of around a day ago, I am unable to access Rainbow 6 Siege's online play, and have trouble even making it to the main menu. Now, I can still access all of my other digital content with ease, and play online with said games, but whenever I attempt to do so with Rainbow 6 Siege, it displays the normal messages, but when attempting to play, it gets stuck on "Creating squad", and after a short bit, will display a smaller popup screen, with Error in large white letters, and a small submessage saying, "An error has occurred". All my attempts to fix this, restarting the game, redownloading, checking internet connection, etc etc., have failed thus far. If anyone would be able to assist me, that would be greatly appreciated.
Hi there,
Thanks for all the info!
Can you please try all of the steps on this FAQ to make sure that this is not connection based: https://support.ubi.com/en-GB/faqs/0...PlayStation-4/
Alongside this can you please restore your licenses: http://manuals.playstation.net/docum...s/license.html
- Cheers
You guys MUST know by now that this is not a "paste random templated solution here and wash your hands of it" kind of problem. It's not like it's just the odd person having issues with it. I've also not gotten further than the "Creating Squad" message on the title screen on my PS4 since the patch. I downloaded the patch, and bought the season pass (apparently that was a bad thing to do?), and after that I've been unable to connect. This is the third night in a row now that my R6 experience is "Creating Squad" and then "An error has occurred" on an endless loop. I'm also on PS4 with the game digitally downloaded.
As I'm writing this, I actually got to the main screen (after waiting and retrying on the title screen for ~15min), but now I'm stuck at connecting to multiplayer instead, so that's no real comfort.
Some actual input or suggested courses of action (other than the template response) would be appreciated. I'm hoping you're at least treating this as an actual problem and not a "please try to reboot your router" thing.

I am sorry if you feel that was a generic response, I was just double checking to see if any of those could fix OP's issue.
However, the Siege team is aware of the issue and are currently investigating this.
???? Any one know what the stated problem actually is an how to fix ??Originally Posted by GaMe_OvEr4208 Go to original post
Has anyone been able to work out what the problem is im on ps4 an have the disk and am having the same issue as above going on 3 days nowOriginally Posted by Ubi-Teech Go to original post
Still going here as well
However, I decided to run through some of the other games in my library, and as it turns out, also Rocket League and Fortnite Battle Royale are having issues. Fortnite even fails on the same thing (gets stuck with the text "Creating Party"). Rocket League just says it cannot contact the online servers.
I didn't look any more into this before, since my other go to game (Battlefield) was, and is, working fine. Not sure what could cause this then... PSN claims to be all green, my account works with at least "some" games, while others which are at least to my knowledge using unrelated infrastructure, are broken.
Ubi-Teech: I apologize for being somewhat of an ***, and kudos to you for keeping a good attitude even when flooded with post from less than happy people.

OK, that was it!
I found a thread on the Fortnite forums that was also the exact same issue as the one I'm seeing in R6, and those guys gave me the solution:
The steps I took to get back online:
Settings -> Account Management -> Sign Out
Power off PS4
Start back up, and sign in to PSN
Start up R6, and everything works again.
Hope that helps someone else as well.
I'm guessing it must be some weird state that "some" accounts were left in after the PSN outage last week then... Unfortunate timing that it happened to coincide with the R6 patch... since that really made it seem like the most likely culprit
