Game became stuttery/laggy out of nowhere

About a month ago, I began noticing FH running stutter-y both in game and in menus. At first I thought it temporary, as I've been playing since beta with no incessant issues. So I played other games and occasionally checked on FH to see if the issue was resolved. But it still hasn't; the lag/fps drop/stutter has persisted over the last 3-4 weeks.

It happens both in combat/in game, and in menus/loading. Very annoying in game, to deal with random stutters every single match - I've lost quite a few fights due to this.

And to clarify, I am not talking about the: "Reconnecting players etc." message that displays when someone drops off a match.

Anyone deal with this/have a suggested remedy?

    W10, i7 3820, GTX 1080, 16GB DDR3 2.3GHZ, Samsung 850 Evo. Super reliable/fast internet connection, wired in directly to modem.

Do you have steam open? When I used to pc game and it started lagging sometimes it was because another game was updating/downloading in the backround.

Besides that I would just give it a restart, make sure your fan on your PC isnt dirty or clogged, overheating can cause this as well.

Probably have Steam open sometimes, sometimes not. But like I said, this has been going on for 3-4 weeks at least and happens every single game and every single time I load up FH. My computer and modem have been restarted many times. I monitor my temps and use canned air to clean out my PC monthly. But thank you for your suggestions.

Have you updated your graphics drivers lately?

Whenever NVIDIA tells me to. Will check on this when I get home, but I'm pretty certain I'm up to date.

Besides that maybe you need to defrag your drives. I don't know all that much about PCs though, maybe someone else will have better answers.

Thanks for posting your system specs! Does changing video settings change the frequency of these drops any? I know you have a perfectly good graphics card, but it might be worth experimenting.

I might have a fix for you. open up your task manager while you have For Honor up and running. Select the For Honor thing, select go to details, then change priority to low and remove one of your processors from the affinity.

Fixes it for me. Try it out!

I will try that. But I will be very disappointed if this is the fix.

I definitely agree it started only after S4 began, but oddly it didn't start right way in early November. It started later in November/early December. I don't think it was in connection to a patch, but I didn't diligently think it through when I first noticed the issue, just figured it would go away by itself like most computer issues (/s).
