Yep. They're basically l*** b**es, but (1) you won't get stuff that you already bought/unlocked, and (2) the stuff inside them seem to be mostly - if not all - cosmetic.

EDIT: We'll get two for free though (i.e. "a gifted Spec Ops Crate and a gifted Ghost War Crate").

Battle Crates Content

Battle Crate is the name of a collection of crates specifically designed for the Campaign and co-op mode (Spec Ops Crate) as well as for the Ghost War mode (Ghost War Crate). Spec Ops Crates contain Epic Weapons, Exotic Weapons, Vehicles and tons of cosmetic items for you to enjoy even more in the whole Campaign mode.

Ghost War Crates contain Exotic Weapons (re-skinned versions of weapons already available in the game – no impact on the weapon stats), customization items and an exclusive new line of skins for your character, called Icons.

Overall, all the cosmetic items you get can be used in both the Campaign and Ghost War modes. More than 200 items are available through the Battle Crates experience. All the items are also purchasable in the store through the various pack offers, except for the Icon skins that are exclusive to the Ghost War Crates.

I read in another thread from a UBI community manager that it will be existing shop items + new exclusive items that are only obtainable via crates. They havent given a specific list to my knowledge.

What Exclusive items ?
It clearly states : All the items are also purchasable in the store through the various pack offers
There is nothing else, no new exclusive weapons !!

I like how they typed this though; they tell us this as if it's supposed to be sensational. lol.

Remember the days when we requested to have items sold separately from the packs but they never responded to that? Ah... Those were the days.

I hope the cosmetic content in the crates includes more character customization options, and isn't just weapon skins.

There's still a few camo patterns and helmets that I'd like to be able to use.

Such as the DPM camo and the Mk.7 helmet.
